Phelix 0 Posted December 5, 2004 I have a little theory that naming your pets is a very international thing, i.e. that cats are named the same just about everywhere you go. The language may change, but the words mean the same. So, what name did you choose for your pet. (Please specify what kind of pet, too). I named our cat Spock, because I hoped that he this way would be as intelligent as the one who he got his name from. Unfortunately, the only thing with the slightest likeness between Spock and Spock are the pointy ears. My cat is like a fotomodel - beutiful to look at, kind to children, and completely daft. Golynohana 332 Posted December 5, 2004 Well, i dont have any pets right now , but sure thing is that if I have one, i will give him the name of one of the rikishi! a dog named Musashimaru or a cat called Kyokushuzan - it sounds great for me :-D
Zenjimoto 40 Posted December 5, 2004 We used to have cats... the first one was Hugo, the second Walter, the third also Walter, cause he looked like the second one :-D Long time ago, had a dachshund named Sebastian :-)
Sasanishiki 57 Posted December 5, 2004 Have just gotten two kittens in the last fortnight. :-D One (the girl) is named Meimei after the nickname of a Chinese friend of ours, while the boy is called George. We were thinking a while ago about getting a golden dragon (lizard) and I wanted to call him Asashoryu because of the dragon connection (I guess it should really have been Asakinryu due to the clour). My partner didn't much go for that as a name. >:-)
Naifuzan 1 Posted December 6, 2004 We got our cat when he was 10 years old or something like that. He's called Sigge, short for S*Zygots Fenix (thats what his pedigree says). Pretty unusual name for a cat, I'd say :-D
Manekineko 200 Posted December 6, 2004 When I was very little, we had a couple of turtles: Pablo and Pablita. For a short while, we had a hedgehog visiting oiur garden, and very imaginetively we named him Hedgehog. :-D

Victoria was demanding lady cat. She was also called Vikki.
Onnagumo 4 Posted December 6, 2004 No pets now, but I've had many. A Guinea pig named Punky, a mouse named Tarzan, a gerbil named Speedy Gonzales, a couple of rats and a budgerigar named Jimmy. Boy, do I miss some of them. Damian, my first rat, came running to me when I called him. On my shoulder he went almost everywhere with me. Quibus was also a rat, and a big one: he weighed 665 g. If he had been human, I think he would have been a rikishi (Clapping wildly...). He was huge but friendly, nice and easygoing.....until you dared to touch his food (Nodding yes...) . And Jimmy....there was no bird like him. He always came to have a taste of whatever we were eating or drinking. Sometimes I had to chase him from my glass of wine before he drank too much (Clapping wildly...) He took a shower in the kitchen sink and then used my clothes or neck as a towel :-D. He drove my parents' poodle crazy by calling to him from the table and then flying away just before the dog could grab him. And when I was mad at him, I got lots of little kisses. The bird on this pic looks quite a lot like him.
Fujisan 535 Posted December 8, 2004 I have called all the cats I have had 'Dusty-' Mostly out of tradition. And yes I have had quite a few,I haven't had a lot of luck with cats unfortunately.
Kishinoyama 625 Posted December 9, 2004 I have two evil dogs..... ;-) We got our Golden Retriever as a pup. Her name is Sandy and she is now 8 years old.. She has a pedigree but we don't call her by the fancy name. She has been the best dog a family could have. Our other dog has only been with us a short time. She was given to us when she was about 2 and a half years old. Her name is Sadie and she is a English Springer Spaniel. A very smart dog but a dog that likes to dig the yard up (Hugging...) Taizeniki 0 Posted December 9, 2004 Two dumber than dirt (but sweet) dogs... a mum and pup lab/rottweiler mix... Riley and Angel respectively. Yes, the kids named them... (Clapping wildly...)

Fukurou 534 Posted December 9, 2004 One cat was named Tribble because he purred like a Tribble when he was little (it was either that or Evinrude). The other cat was named Natasha - the people I got her from had already named her, and I kept the name. Her brother was named Boris.
