Sekiwake/Komusubi/Upper joi-jin January 2026 poll

This poll is a little different to the usual 'annual polls'.

It will be done on a points basis. 

For the three questions, you need to choose one rikishi. You MUST choose three different rikishis (otherwise, you are automatically disqualified).

For the first question, choose which rikishi you think will be ranked at S1W (Sekiwake 1 West) on the January 2026 banzuke.

For the second question, choose which rikishi you think will be ranked at K1W (Komusubi1 West) on the January 2026 banzuke.

For the third question, choose which rikishi you think will be ranked at M1W (Maegashira 1 West) on the January 2026 banzuke.

I will then score the results as follows, depending on where your selected rikishi actually ends up on the banzuke....

NB: There are intentionally no points for Ozekis or Yokozunas! 

Q1: Sekiwake 1 West
Sekiwake 1 West = 10pts
Other Sekiwake ranks (S1E, S2E etc) = 9pts
Komusubi 1 East = 8pts
Other Komusubi ranks (K1W, K2e etc) = 7pts
M1E = 6pts
M1W = 5pts
M2 (E or W) = 4pts
M3 (E or W) = 3pts
M4 (E or W) = 2pts
M5 (E or W) = 1pt

Q2: Komusubi 1 West
Komusubi 1 West = 10pts
Other Komusubi ranks (K1E, K2E etc) = 9pts
M1E = 8pts
M1W = 7pts
M2E = 6pts
M2W = 5pts
M3 (E or W) = 4pts
M4 (E or W) = 3pts
M5 (E or W) = 2pts
Sekiwake (any) = 1pt

Q1: Maegashira 1 West
Maegashira 1 West = 10pts
M1E = 9pts
M2E = 8pts
M2W = 7pts
M3E = 6pts
M3W = 5pts
M4 (E or W) = 4pts
M5 (E or W) = 3pts
Komusubi (any) = 2pts
Sekiwake (any) = 1pt
