Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

To those who played the EURO 2024 fantasy game last June-July here is your chance to play again but this time for the Champions League competition ! To those who missed it this is the official fantasy game on the UEFA's site.

All those who played the EURO fantasy game you can use the same account as it is on the same site, therefore most of the work is done already.

This season will be even more interesting as we have a new format with more teams and more games.

Of course It is a free game so join us, it is fun and competitive !

It only takes a minute to create your team (with auto fill mode) and you can modify it later as you wish (till the start of the competition on September 17th, after that there are restrictions, please refer to the rules)

Feel free to ask any questions you might have.

You'll find the links here below :

To the new players, I suggest to name your team as your shikona. It will be easier to recognize everyone in the standings.

7 days before the start of the season.
The usual 6 who have been playing for years are registered.

I hoped that at least some of those who played the EURO fantasy would also had been interested to play the Champions League.
It might have slipped their mind ? This is a kind reminder. Please join ! :-)

Problem with the CL is, it is running for 8-9 months. Thus often enough CL and bashos will run at the same time. Now guess what my priority is. Moreover, I don't like the new CL format. Call me old-fashioned or romantic, but I wish we still had the original format from 1955 when it all started as "Coupe des Clubs Champions Européens". Why should 2nd, 3rd or 4th placed team play CL? They have won nothing, they simply don't deserve to participate. It should be for national Champions plus defending Champion only. Outsiders like Panathinaikos Athens, Malmö FF or Steaua Bucharest will never make it to the final again.

@Ganzohnesushi I understand the arguments about your "old fashioned state of mind".

Now regarding the time spent on actually playing the game it is really not that long if you're following footballl just a little as probably most of you do.
As far as I'm concerned I need maybe 5-10 minutes before each round for my transfers. Then 1-2 minutes for any substitutions during each round.
The biggest "job" is before the start of the season (the 6 days left from now) to prepapre a decent team like.... Bench sumo stuff ! But this is done only once.

Just three days to go before the start of the season.

Last bump and last attempt. It  seems that I am just wasting my time here and yours.

I just joined (Bouncingofexcitement...)

but without spending a lot of time on it, freely off the cuff
Hence many players from German teams :-D

It's just too difficult to follow European football from across the pond. I can do it for a short big time tournament (and they actually show those on TV here), but CL is long and games are difficult to watch, it would feel like playing sumo games without watching the basho. :-(

No problem at all, thanks for sharing your thoughts and your arguments are fully admissible. :-)

Wouw, 5 out of 8 players took the perfect Captain with Harry Kane (Applauding...)

But surprisingly one of the 3 others is leading :-D

I guess this will be a very competitive league.

That said you should wait till the end of the round to name the leader. Many things can happen till then.... ;-)

Really ??? (Eh?)

And I thought that after a third of the first eighth of the preliminary round everything is already decided !!! (Anidea...)

But seriously: I'm also expecting a very competitive and exciting league here ! (Bouncingofexcitement...)
