Has anyone ever had a Bench lineup with so many kyujos that they couldn't put out five active wrestlers?

Why? Do you see it coming?

Not this time, but just getting down to seven made me wonder if it ever happened. The only reason I don't think it'll happen this time is that the most likely remaining kyujos are unlikely to have been picked by many people. It doesn't seem impossible that there was a basho once where someone who took a chance on some good but injury-prone wrestlers saw them all go out, with maybe another guy or two unfortunately dropping out as well. But that would also require at least six guys going kyujo, and that doesn't happen too often.

Seven isn't unusual, and I think I've seen six before. Can't remember anyone being down to five, though.

I have been playing Bench Sumo for more than 20 years and for the first time I have 4 Rikishi Kyujo in my team. Starting tomorrow only three.:-)

Several players of info-sumo team celebrate their 20th anniversary in 2024.  image.png.3905a984837b779249e415915237adf1.png

This is entirely self-inflicted.

Funny, these sumo games. Oortael is leading in Tipspiel but 0-7 in Bench Juryo.

And I'm only warming up.

I love the days when you top the toto charts with 23-9, yet you get 5 correct in SG and 4 points in bench.

I've got 63 wins so far in UDH, and 54 in Hoshitori. I'm doing something right, although I need a little more guidance.

I think that this might be the record. I can only recall times when players were down to six active rikichi in the past.

Among the leaders in ISP with 9-0 and 8-1 records are only Makushita ranked players plus a rookie. Funny.

Does anyone know this KonyaGaYamada? I'm pretty impressed with his results but i'm more impressed with his nickname reference.

According to his Sumo Game profile, he is French.

Next day I can also bottom the toto chart being the only one of 74 people with a negative result. This must be some kind of record.

Poor guy mistakenly picked Hoshoryu instead of Takakeisho, cut him some slack.

@Pandaazuma Outstanding yusho in Toto! (Applauding...)

(...and I won't even start to count how many of those wins were due to the notorious Panda x-pick...) :-D

And Congrats to @Pandaazuma on another green Mawashi! Good to see that top form again.
