The Kyokai's version mentions both Ichinojo as the most recent two-and-under case and Asashoryu as the most recent in exactly two, though their English translation of the Japanese original is rather messed up. (In the time it took you to write that comment casting aspersions on the Kyokai site's stats work, you could have just checked that yourself...) Quote 新入幕から所要2場所以内で新三役は、平成26年11月場所の逸ノ城以来。所要2場所で新三役は、平成13年5月場所の朝青龍以来。 Since Ichinojo in November 2014, no one has been newly promoted to Sanyaku within two tournaments after their debut in the Makuuchi division. Since Asashoryu in May 2001, no one has reached Sanyaku for the first time within two tournaments. Edited May 3 by Asashosakari

Not mentioning that somewhat overstates the accomplishment. The previous accomplishment mentioned (2nd fastest to Sanyaku for MsTD) had to consider Ichinojo. Ichinojo is in a league all himself and he's actually tied with Kitanofuji and Onishiki for making sanyaku after one tournament in the division

He went with Hakuhou's first name (Shou) and Taihou's first letter (tai) and then dream, adding that the deceased former oyakata (ex-Terao) came up with the shikona (but why the change now?). I guess "showtime" never entered anyone's mind.. Edited May 5 by Kintamayama 1
Koorifuu 886 Posted May 5 (edited) I do wonder though. The announcers, yobidashi and commentators usually do their best to pronounce Maikeru's shikona as close to an English "Michael" as possible. Is Showtime going to get the same treatment? Edited May 5 by Koorifuu
