A fun game that shows panache and prowess. I invite you all to play this challenging yet intriguing between - bashos game, the only one of its kind. So let's do it!!  So this is a formal invitation to play the "Guess the Banzuke" game!! 25 years, 155th basho. Please play. It's fun and healthy and doesn't fall off the dohyo with the salt bucket.. Game rules: Guess the Banzuke. Simple. You get two points for a bulls-eye and one point for just getting the rank right. You get no points for mounting the dohyo with an injury and still getting the yusho.. Tiebreakers - Most total guesses, then we check the banzuke backwards - getting the lower half right will be important.  The most correct guesses in the last ten places will win the tiebreaker. If still tied, we go up a ranking at a time like a penalty shootout. If still tied, we will hold a seminar on "Is Takerufuji actually Takarafuji with a neck?" It's up to you to check if you are on the list of entries. Additionally, it's up to you to check if  your entry was accepted and did not go missing in the Internet void. No late entries will be expected or accepted. The entry process is very simple and fully automated so don't be put off by thinking this is technically complicated in any way. The game itself - very complicated indeed. AND, there is an excellent helper graciously made by Chiyotasuke to make all our lives easier- all links right under this.

I do not often look at the signatures for changes. I was wondering if it was something hot springs related until I read it and first wondered if you had gone mad.  Then it hit me...

I would have put Takerufuji even higher if it wasn't for Tobizaru basically blocking him due to his need to be promoted and the far superior claims of everyone else above him.

Oddly, the area I struggled with the most was M7w-M9e where I seriously considered just about any possible combination. (Yes, I realize that what I settled on has Kotoshoho and Shonannoumi getting same-sized promotions despite their different records. They've done worse.)

The guesses I have seen so far sort of confirm my first feelings about this edition. It's going to be a closely contested, high scoring GTB. Anyone who gets Takerufuji in the right spot is in with a shot. Looks like I am out on a limb with Tokihayate at M15e, but as my Latvian mother-in-law says "You never don't know".
