Kintamayama 44,400 Posted March 26 (edited) A fun game that shows panache and prowess. I invite you all to play this challenging yet intriguing between - bashos game, the only one of its kind. So let's do it!! So this is a formal invitation to play the "Guess the Banzuke" game!! 25 years, 155th basho. Please play. It's fun and healthy and doesn't fall off the dohyo with the salt bucket.. Game rules: Guess the Banzuke. Simple. You get two points for a bulls-eye and one point for just getting the rank right. You get no points for mounting the dohyo with an injury and still getting the yusho.. Tiebreakers - Most total guesses, then we check the banzuke backwards - getting the lower half right will be important. The most correct guesses in the last ten places will win the tiebreaker. If still tied, we go up a ranking at a time like a penalty shootout. If still tied, we will hold a seminar on "Is Takerufuji actually Takarafuji with a neck?" It's up to you to check if you are on the list of entries. Additionally, it's up to you to check if your entry was accepted and did not go missing in the Internet void. No late entries will be expected or accepted. The entry process is very simple and fully automated so don't be put off by thinking this is technically complicated in any way. The game itself - very complicated indeed. AND, there is an excellent helper graciously made by Chiyotasuke to make all our lives easier- all links right under this. For rules that will never be changed, standings and Daieishou's constantly flying bandage : http://www.dichne.com/Guess.htm For the nifty entry form, which will hopefully continue to do what it's intended to do : http://sumodb.sumoga...b/GTBEntry.aspx For Chiyotasuke's incredible helper: https://chiyotasuke.github.io/gtbhelper/ For the archives: http://sumodb.sumoga...gtbarchive.aspx See if you are on the entry list: http://sumodb.sumogames.de/gtb/GTBEntryList.aspx Deadline: Tuesday (take note..), April 23rd, 2024 at 18:00 GMT ("Go, My Takerufuji.." - PLEASE NOTE-THIS IS ONE WEEK BEFORE THE OFFICIAL BANZUKE ANNOUNCEMENT!! Tsuchinoninjin 1,249 Posted April 20 *RING RING* Kirishima: Hey Boss Terunofuji: Wassup bamayama! K: You know that's not my name anymore... T: Ah, right on shimajima K: Ughh T: Anyway, can you tell that Tsuchinoninjin guy to enter GTB? Only 3 days left! K: What? Who cares if that guy enters or not? Just going to barely kachikoshi anyway... T: Wow! And you would be so pleased with that kind of record! K: Come on now, moving heya and all that is so stressful, and they don't even use the right kind of dashi in their nabe here! T: How dare you! I personally gave Kakuryu that dashi from my dashi tree! K: Boss, I don't think dashi grows on trees, what have we been putting into our chanko? T: Ahhh 2

Asashosakari 18,837 Posted April 24 My attempt, similar vibe to Gurowake's entry but with lots and lots of one-spot switches: Terunofuji (Ye 2-5-7) Y --- Hoshoryu (O1w 11-4) O1 Kotonowaka (O2w 10-5) Takakeisho (O2e 8-6-1) O2 Kirishima (O1e 5-10) Wakamotoharu (Sw 9-6) S Abi (Ke 9-6) Onosato (M5w 11-4) K Asanoyama (M1w 9-6) Atamifuji (M2e 8-7) M1 Daieisho (Se 6-9) Hiradoumi (M4w 9-6) M2 Gonoyama (M6w 10-5) Takayasu (M8w 11-4) M3 Tobizaru (M4e 8-7) Takerufuji (M17e 13-2 Y) M4 Oho (M3e 7-8) Ura (M1e 6-9) M5 Onosho (M8e 9-6) Meisei (M2w 6-9) M6 Midorifuji (M5e 7-8) Mitakeumi (M10w 9-6) M7 Kotoshoho (M9w 8-7) Nishikigi (Kw 3-12) M8 Takanosho (M3w 5-10) Tamawashi (M7w 7-8) M9 Shodai (M10e 8-7) Shonannoumi (M12e 9-6) M10 Kinbozan (M7e 6-7-2) Sadanoumi (M11w 8-7) M11 Ichiyamamoto (M11e 7-8) Hokutofuji (M9e 6-9) M12 Nishikifuji (M14e 8-7) Mitoryu (J2w 12-3 Y) M13 Churanoumi (M13w 7-8) Ryuden (M13e 6-9) M14 Tsurugisho (M6e 2-3-10) Oshoma (J4w 11-4) M15 Roga (M15w 7-8) Tokihayate (J1e 8-7) M16 Tomokaze (J3w 9-6) Takarafuji (J1w 8-7) M17 --- Oddly, the area I struggled with the most was M7w-M9e where I seriously considered just about any possible combination. (Yes, I realize that what I settled on has Kotoshoho and Shonannoumi getting same-sized promotions despite their different records. They've done worse.) Tigerboy1966 1,385 Posted April 24 The guesses I have seen so far sort of confirm my first feelings about this edition. It's going to be a closely contested, high scoring GTB. Anyone who gets Takerufuji in the right spot is in with a shot. Looks like I am out on a limb with Tokihayate at M15e, but as my Latvian mother-in-law says "You never don't know".
