Pardon my ignorance, but could someone explain the difference between kanjin-zumo and a standard jungyo?

Fundraising and charity, I believe. Kanjin sumo events were a way for temples and shrines in the old days to earn some money, as opposed to other basho put on purely for entertainment and full profit motive. My memory might be hazy but that's why a lot of shrines and temples had a dohyo.

If I remember correctly, some kanjin sumo became a convenient fig leaf for actual entertainment basho that got out of hand, so the shogun had to specifically authorise events to be held - an early form of licence. That's why basho to this day have the gomen fuda, as a relic of that age.

It is virtually impossible that Endo retires before a drop to makushita - he's the face of Noto

more so than the other 2 (behind him) - in the back Oshoumi, from Tsubata like Onosata, and Asanoyama is closely related to the region, behind is the symbol of Endo's hometown Anamizu, also on the kesho mawashi from home with which he started the year - d1 Hatsu

Endo - from Anamizu on the Noto peninsula, close to the quake, Kagayaki - from Nanao, also Noto-hanto, a bit farther away, and Onosato, from Tsubata, Ishikawa pref., on the 6th made a sympathy call to those still living in shelters after the New Year Noto hanto earthquake

The 3 have been selected as expectation generals from Kyugetsu as May puppets for Kids/Boys Day 5.5. (with 2 from baseball), with shinkansen boy Kagayaki in front - the new Kagayaki Hokuriku shinkansen extension from Kanazawa to Tsuruga just opened https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xLyCI0ZNPEo

There is no choice of seats - all chair seats go for 3000Yen: from the S type for 9 000 till the D type for 2500Yen. Those who buy now soon only get the minor C category - I got 向11列 18番 shown at a try now, 11 is the last row of B seats. The other - sold out - seats were similar: a masu seat box was sold for 10000 yen, a 4 person masu for 2 persons, a tamariseki also 10000 yen, including a commemorative zabuton

About 7000 were at the event in the kokugikan, no man-in onrei - looks like the (usually) cheap seats were left unsold twimg.com/media/GLL8jATaQAAq7WJ.jpg

As expected, @alpspapa posted a full 4k coverage - deleted and reposted it in 2 parts

Takayasu is praised as a professional by many for his performance of Subaru

slightly ridiculous scene: nearly half of those who touched his hand wore masks

- the others were acceptable singers, Daieisho quite good, Kagayaki not, but there had to be a local one among the singers
