@Yarimotsu @Jakusotsu  damn you really want to make me work don't you?!

After a 99% research I found a few others.

@Kuramarujo has one KK but played only the first edition of the game.

Sir @Takanorappa also has only KKs 10-5 / 8-7 / 11-4 / 10-5 / 9-6  but has been kyujo for the last two basho..... he's back for this one so we'll see what happens.

2 more recent players are still avoiding MK :

@Kaiowaka 4-3 / 11-4
@Fashiritētā 4-3 / 8-7

100 percent MK record and proud of it (Punkrocker...)

Heck, my rikishi do so poorly they sometimes don't even make it out of the first week.

If you turn the SS banzuke upside down, I will soon be at the top.

I saw banana pizza a few years ago as a quirky limited item at a cheap chain. Personally I like seafood pizzas even though the ingredient quality is abysmal.

On a more related note, I did end up tracking my Sekitori Sweepstake history - if anyone was interested here it is. Should I be tracking any other stats?

Sekitori Sweepstake

Tournament Rikishi Rank Result My Rank My Result
2023.01 TAKARAFUJI M16E 8-7   /
2023.03 TAMASHOHO J13E 8-7 M7W /
2023.05 FUJISEIUN J13E 9-6 M3W /K
2023.07 CHIYOMARU J11W 8-7 K1W /-
2023.09 ASANOYAMA M2W 9-6 K1W /
2023.11 KOTONOWAKA S2E 11-4 K1E /S
2024.01 KOTONOWAKA S1E 13-2 S1E /O yusho
2024.03       O1W

In terms of rank progression timeline, looks most like Takakeisho at the moment. In terms of actual results it's kind of amazing how quickly the pattern becomes unique, but the math checks out. Only 3, including Kotoyuki who followed up with 12 then 7 wins, have gone 8-8-9-8-9 wins in consecutive basho.

Dejima's progression here is almost certainly the most similar overall.

Ah, Dejima, who I borrowed my shikona from.

I would love to see stats for all players like the above. But of course, that is a dream unlikely to come true.

M12W Kaiowaka has received M13E Ryuden.

Ryuden at this level, surely has the ability of pulling off a double digit KK?

M17W Athenayama will make do with J1W Takarafuji.

The last time Takarafuji was in Juryo was November 2012. Usually when a Makunouchi stalwart first drops to Juryo after a long period of time, they bounce back quickly with a really good record, or start to slide down further towards the inevitable intai....

M7W Flohru has drawn M15W Roga.

This will be the Russian from Mongolia's second visit to Makunouchi. Last time ended in a disappointing MK.

S1E Jakusotsu will be pinning his hopes on M5E Midorifuji.
The last two times Midorifuji has been ranked at M5, he has had respectable KKs (10-5 and 9-6).

S2E Kaba, my youngest son (and already in bed, awaiting a visit from the tooth fairy) will learn tomorrow, that he needs to be cheering for J12E Kotoeko.

Or at the very least, keep his fingers crossed that Kotoeko can last the whole basho, for the first time in three!

M4E Sumo Spiffy will be looking to M3W Takanosho.

Takanosho was a joi-jin/sanyaku mainstay about two years ago. He is still young enough to have another go at that, I think.

M2W Wamahada will be championed by M4W Hiradoumi.

This will be Hiradoumi's first ever basho in the joi-jin. Good luck to him - and Wamahada.

M6E Chijanofuji hopes turn to M2W Meisei.

The last time Meisei was ranked at M2W, he went 4-11. Eek!

O1E Tetsuba will be starting his Yokozuna drive with M8E Onosho.

Onosho is one of those rikishi who can either have a great basho or a poor basho. He has only had one 8-7 or 7-8 average basho in the past 15!

M11W Jejima gets (fingers crossed, no obscure Juryo rikishi please (Praying...)).... J10E Shiden.

Who????? He has gone his four active Juryo bashos with alternate KKs and MKs. If the pattern follows, he is due a KK this basho. (I hope!)

M10E Reonito has been given K1E Abi.

Abi's last five bashos have alternated KKs and MKs. If the pattern continues, this basho should be an MK...:-O (Abi prefers to fight in Tokyo?)

M3E #1HENKAFAN gets M15E Myogiryu.

Myogiryu is at his lowest rank since March 2018 - so surely should be able to perform at this level.

M3W Baku, my oldest son (who scored a hattrick in football ;-) training this evening, as well as providing assists for a further five goals) will get to know better J14W Chiyosakae over the next fortnight.

This will be Chiyosakae's third basho in-a-row at the lowest rank for a sekitori. Surely third time lucky to finally get a KK?

M8E Suwihuto has been granted O1E Kirishima.

The first of the Ozekis to be drawn! In the past seven bashos, Kirishima has had five double digit KKs. A good draw, methinks.

K1E Karasukurai will be relying on M5W Onosato.

This will be Onosato's 6th basho in Ozumo - and he has never had an MK! Will this be a wall-'heating' basho? Karasukurai will hope not!

M16W Getayukata will receive J5W Shirokuma.

Shirokuma has never had an MK in his 11 (including mae-zumo) career. That's a great sign for Getayukata.... But, his last three bashos have all been 8-7... so has he reached his limit?

M4W sumojoann will be checking in on O2E Takakeisho

For the 7th career time, Takakeisho is kadoban. Six times (out of seven) he has managed to retain his rank. Sumojoann will be hoping for yet another recovery!
