Atamifuji is 21 years old. His last three bashos of 2023 were a 11-4 yusho, then two back-to-back 11-4 Makunouchi jun-yushos.

But, will this good form continue into 2024?

Please make a comment below, with as much information as possible, in case a tie-breaker is required.

I think he will have a good year and will probably reach sanyaku, but he may not maintain it because he hasn't looked as dominant when he has gone up the ranks and faced the top guys. At least one jun-yusho but no yusho

Atamifuji is looking strong, just needs time in the saddle, should be in Sanyaku by September.

test-and-re-test year for him. I don't think we're looking at someone solid enough to take down the current top regularly. expecting 1 disaster basho.

Atamifuji begin to have less wins when he gets up in the meat grinder positions, but he will still get eight or nine wins easily.

He will be 22 years old. He will stick with his present shikona. He will sport  a new kesho-mawashi, different from his present one. He will throw salt during every single bout. He will put both of his hands down clearly before every tachiai. He will smile after every win, backstage. He will fist-pump one of his tsukebitos at least three times each basho after a win. He will give chikaramizu at least 4 times a basho to Kotonowaka. Not in June, though.

I'll give him Komusubi for his rank but I can see him anywhere m5 and up so just a wild guess.

No kinboshi because unless we get a new Yokozuna he won't be fighting Terunofuji. Best record 11-5.

Best record 11-4. Forgive my buffoonery.

Best record 11-5.

So, 11-4 and a playoff loss, just like in Aki 2023. :-P

He did much better in Kyushu than I thought, but I think he will get a reality check in the next basho being ranked around M1 for the first time (like others before him). Then we'll see if he can adjust, or if the top-rankers adjust to him. I am on the fence.

Oops. Haha, I think I had watched an NFL game prior to this (16-game season).

The joi test is now coming for the youngster. He'll have some couple of bad basho and fall to mid but he'll be a mainstay. Will make sanyaku once

Don't know why, but at the time of typing, I am feeling very confident about Atamifuji!

All the way to Ozeki, this year (or by January 2025).

21 people voted in this poll.

17 of us think that he will be ranked in the sanyaku in January 2025, with a couple of people thinking that he will go all the way to Ozeki.

15 of us think that he will get double digit wins in at least half of the 2025 bashos.

The majority of us think that he will win at least one jun-yusho, and pick up the Shukun-sho and Kanto-sho prizes. We also think that he will start next year ranked higher than Hokuseiho.
