He stumbled on the standard phrase, not to bring shame on the name of ozeki - he had trained the individual part with a 4 kanji compound and brought that without problem: a spirit of kihaku-issen  気魄一閃 for his effort is his ozeki motto - the will power of going frank and straight and forceful towards anything and anybody, he talked about it with the oyakata and thought it was fine.

Hoshoryu during the jungyo break was in his Japanese hometown Kashiwa today to report his yusho and promotion to the mayor - both a first for a rikishi from Kashiwa

His father is the eldest son of a former Mongolian police officer with 5 children, also a police officer (thus the grim face), the 2nd is an MMA fighter and Olympic wrestler, the 3rd the Blue Wolf in Japanese pro-wrestling and the 4th Asashoryu, one daughter. o He himself started with judo at age 5, with wrestling at age 11. After middle school graduation in Mongolia Asashoryu made him to come to Kashiwa to study at the Nittaidai affiliate Kashiwa high school, where he changed from wrestling to sumo in his first year.
