Jejima 1,300 Posted August 11, 2023 As far as I am aware, shoulder barges are pretty much a part of football. Certainly here in the UK during my formative days. Commentators used to rue the number of free kicks given against English (and the occasional Scottish) clubs last century in European matches, for things (like hefty shoulder barges) that would have been perfectly fine in the UK. This is taken directly from Jejima's quote: It is not seen very often now, as referees will often award a direct free kick if there is physical contact off the ball.
