Bunbukuchagama's Comments:

Jejima's Comments: I am trying to be a good manager, and look at my opposition's squad, before making my selection, and then picking my line-up accordingly. I actually think that Sweden will probably defeat USA, and that Japan has a better chance (so really should be in slot 2) of being nailed down for a win.... But, I *think* that my aite will likely put England and the USA in his first two slots, so I want to neutralise that, before making an impact with Japan....  Have I overthought this? Will Bunbuckuchagama favour Sweden (as I secretly do?), which will mess up with my plans? Am I being over defensive - and should be more offensive?  Time will tell!

Refioji's Comments: Jejima is the winner 2:0

Refioji Nekonishiki – Octofinals – Day 4

And Octofinals are over. What is this rush for? :)

Just brief comments today.

 The results were:

Spoiler

Colombia 1 Jamaica 0
France 4 Morocco 0

BWC16  Match 1:
Kaba (Switzerland) 2 Meletyoshi (Spain) 2

Kaba scored 2 goals and so did Meletyoshi. The match went to 120 minutes, but it couldn’t decide, either.

After a dramatic penalty series Kaba misses the fifth! Meletyoshi doesn’t. The match ended with 7:6 4:5 in favor of Meletyoshi.

(It has already been checked, but I won’t be offended by a V.A.R. check)

BWC16  Match 2:
Oyama (Netherlands) 2  Chiyonosora (Argentina) 0

And Oyama takes a third winner in #4, it means Oyama wins the match with 2:0

 OctoCup_4.jpg

BWS16  Match 9:
Rhinoshima (New Zealand) 0  Andonishiki (Zambia) 1

The first scenario worked today, so Andonishiki wins with 1:0

BWS16  Match 10:
Kimyama (USA) 0  Bumbiachiyama (South Africa) 2

No third goal for Bumbiachiyama, but 2 are satisfying, too. The winner is Bumbiachiyama with 2:0

BWS16  Match 11:

Ganzohnesushi 'eeks' into the Quarterfinals. Krisachiyama is on the way home.

3-0, nice win for Germany on penalties. Upps... Well, I'm not representing Germany, but Costa Rica...

Did you know that the penalty shoot-out was invented by the German referee Karl Wald (active in lower divisions) in 1970? Earlier the final decision was made by coin toss. And did you know that the first international penalty shoot-out was won surprsingly by an English team? FC Everton won vs. Borussia Mönchengladbach in November 1970 in the European Champions Cup.

Refioji Nekonishiki - Quarterfinals

@Andonishiki, Bumbiachiyama ( @Achiyama), Kaba ( @Jejima), Chiyonosora (@Andonishiki), Meletyoshi (@Athenayama) and Oyama ( @Igiski

The kick-off is at 3am CEST on Friday. So I will have to set the deadline to the previous evening again. So it's NOT right before the kick-off, because I still want to announce the pairings, otherwise I could send them only around 5pm on Friday. Therefore

The deadline is 10pm CEST on Thursday, August 10 (which is 9pm UK Time, 4pm EST and 5am Friday JST)

Please send your line-ups before the deadline to me either in a PM here in the forum or to bandey@szumo.hu

The competition turns to an even more serious phase, so please check your line-ups carefully, mark your teams with the needed (R), (C), (S1) and (S2) where it is needed. Send only teams which you still have. I have the decks of yellow and red cards unopened, and I hope they will stay that way.

I wrote it to my players but actually it's valid for every player, I guess.

I can guess the root of the problem. I've deleted several previous messages to clean up. If you replied to one of those, it may probably not be delivered.
