Because of his superb performance in winning the juryo yusho, Asanoyama will get to challenge the yusho winner of makuuchi for the ultimate tiebreaker

Winner instantly promoted to Yokozuna.

Legit thing that used to happen though, when the NCAA national wrestling championships would be held, the D1 tournament organizers used to invite the winners of the D2 and D3 tournaments to participate. But when Carl Hasselrig would win three tournaments at the D1 level in a row after he would win the D2 championships, they discontinued inviting the lower division champions to the tournament. Carl Hasselrig to this day is the only 6x NCAA wrestling national champion

Takakeisho returns tomorrow and ends up with a 11-4 yusho, beating Daieisho and Midorifuji in a playoff.

When asked in the yusho interview what happened in the first week, he just shrugs and says, 'just to make it interesting, I know it's been boring for the fans'.

He still is not promoted to yokozuna though, per kyokai's new rule '3 consecutive yusho in case of a hamster'.

Winner promoted to Yokozuna, the loser to Ozeki. The Makuuchi contestant is Shodai. Shodai wins.

After Takakeisho fails to clear kadoban, the NSK has a panic-filled meeting, and decides to create a temporary Ozeki Sonobakagiri ("Ad hoc Ozeki") for the Nagoya basho.  The slot will be filled by the winner of a tournament among the current San'yaku.  As you can guess, the final match is against Tobizaru (K1w) and Shodai (K2w).  Tobizaru pulls a henka and beats Shodai by hatakikomi, but a mono-ii shows that he pulled on the hair.  Thus Shodai becomes the Next Ozeki.

You're joking, but that's more or less what will happen in that scenario, I think. They just have to hope there's a Sekiwake with a kachi-koshi to shove up there, regardless of their prior records.

Considering that Takakeisho is usually competitive whether healthy, I wouldn't be surprised if they resurrect the kosho seido system instead than going down that way. Like that, Takakeisho is 7 losses in May and likely to get an eight the following day. First news of the next day: kosho seido reinstated, Takakeisho goes kyujo under its protection.

Second news of the day, Mitakeumi drives a donuts truck through Hakkaku's house.

At the next board meeting, Hakkaku says, "he's got to be punished for damaging my house with that donut truck!"
