About 40 to 50 million yen can be expected from such an event. Shodai plans to have his on October 23rd, with about 700 guests. After this catastrophic basho it will not be a celebration with optimistic expectations. Terunofuji plans his for the 16th this month, possibly with an outlook of continued kyujo (he already performed the yokozuna dohyo-iri several times this month though). Mitakeumi might become the first ozeki who has no promotion party, if he doesn't make it back - 10 wins in his condition will be hard to get. Akinomaki 40,703 Posted September 4, 2023 (edited) Not the official promotion party, but Hoshoryu today had a party to celebrate yusho and ozeki promotion at his old Nittaidai Kashiwa high school, with about 200 guests, among them classmates and sempai: Oshoma and Asahakuryu came with him from Mongolia on the same flight, Oshoma was with Hoshoryu in the wrestling club first, but stayed there and switched to sumo in university, while Hoshoryu switched to sumo soon and joined ozumo after high school - they never had a bout, not even in keiko - Asahakuryu was in the sumo club from the start. 1 year sempai is sd local Hakuomaru (both different kanji for Hakuo than Hakuoho - Kashiwa king 柏王, not Count Sakura 伯桜) o o o with the Nittaidai rijicho and the mayor on the right oo o o "Ozeki is not the end, there's something above on the banzuke" o o - who will get there first - Kirishima or he?
