Kyushu 2022 discussion (results)

I'm torn now. I really want the tomoesen, but I also want WTK to get 9-6 to keep the Ozeki bid kindling. True, 9-6 is not a strong middle basho, but if he has a great January, then 11-4 > 9-6 could be enough. 8-7 less likely.

Shodai can't even manage the minimum KK, ending 6-9 like Mitakeumi. Shodai will need to come back in the new year a different man if he wants a hope at 10 wins.

That was a hell of a tachiai from Hokutofuji....jeez

I will LOL though if Shodai regains ozeki in January, it seems like a very Shodai thing to do (Laughing...)

Not content with simply escaping kadoban every second basho, bored Shodai set himself a new challenge: to escape Ozekiwake every third basho.

Takakeisho still needs to win for that to happen. I wouldn't bet a single dime on him. He lost the last 4 to Wakatakakage.

Oh FFS!

Takakeisho has less time to recover, but his type of sumo is more efficient. I guess he'll get the two wins easier

To be fair to Keisho, Wakatakakage did put his hand down in one of those 4 "wins".

winning 3 tough matches is a lot, especially if injured. Advantage Takayasu I think.

While everyone is eagerly awaiting the tomoesen, I have to give a shoutout to Shimazuumi down in Juryo who managed
to secure his KK today after an abysmal 3-7 start.

Commendable perserverance and fighting spirit shown by him!

Two wins required, but back to back.

Edit: I guess you're counting the previous ones.

They've all fought once already.

Lucky, Takakeisho is still out of breath, but he isn't in the first bout

BOOM!

And another FFS! I hope Takayasu is not injured too bad.

Well, now I hope Takakeisho smokes Abi into row three. Nothing illegal, and Takayasu's head hit his armpit, but henka is a cheap way to win in these circumstance.
