his head slammed down badly, idk.

Nope, both replay showed his hand touching down first before he covers his head on the ground.

His head hit Abi's upper arm/armpit and his neck went back.

Abi doesn't want to get mentioned as a yusho hope

Nope, look at the walk back to the shitakubeya, you can see tearmarks under Takayasu’s eyes. He was crying his heart out on the dohyo for 1 minute.

I have never been so disappointed in my life.

I had some residual dislike of Abi post-suspension, and I can't say I have any good feelings towards him after a henka in a play-off bout. Shameful. Is this the heat of the moment talking as a Takayasu fan who hated seeing him get hurt? Probably.

As much as I wanted Takakeisho to win rather than Abi, I'm glad we didn't have to deal with the farce that would have been Takayasu mounting the dohyo again. I love this sport, but far out, sometimes it doesn't love you back.

I don’t see how that disputes what I said.

He wasn’t concussed. If he was concussed he wouldn’t be crying and there wouldn’t be tearmarks.

I simply described what happened at the tachiai. That said, he was clearly physically affected beyond disappointment. He could easily have been crying because he knew was in no shape to fight a second bout if the chance had come.

If Takakeisho wins the Yusho next Basho, does it count as a Yokozuna run?

In short, yes. I had another post a while ago where I looked at recent yokozuna promtion precedent, and 12-3 D is definitely a starting point

EDIT: Here's the post:

I mean, I've watched clearly concussed UFC fighters give interviews where they are bawling. It's def a thing.

I disagree with you, and will leave it at that.

A yusho next basho? Yes. This playoff? Depends on how desperate they are for a new Yokozuna.
