Sumo Spiffy 177 Posted September 12, 2022 4. Tochinoshin I'm trying to decide if it's more complicated to figure out the top of the division (sanyaku matchups) or the bottom.
Jejima 938 Posted September 12, 2022 4. Tochinoshin I thought being ranked this low down should make it more difficult to predict?

shimodahito 242 Posted September 12, 2022 keep it simple (with 3S and 3K). 4.tochinoshin
Gurowake 3,434 Posted September 12, 2022 (edited) Bizarre pairings near the bottom of the banzuke for Day 3. They could easily have had Ichiyamamoto-Chiyoshoma, Mitoryu-Yutakayama and Hiradoumi-Terutsuyoshi instead of the 3 matches they chose, and that would have put the rikishi closer to each others' ranks. It probably won't matter in the end since they'll all probably face each other, but it's strange. 4. Sakura 1,224 Posted September 12, 2022 I've been uuming and aahing about this. The previous committee used the Even-Day-Rule-Exception consistently and the choice would be easie. This commitee is different. They'v e used the exception and not used the exception. I'm gambling that they will use the exception and get 3. Tochinoshin If not, then I think @Oshirokita is right. Reonito 597 Posted September 13, 2022 History suggests 4. Tochonoshin but I agree @Oshirokita has the correct alternate pick.

Sumo Spiffy 177 Posted September 14, 2022 I'm seeing how one lands on Kotoeko, but I can't figure out how the... ...uh... no spoilers... ...how the prerequisites for who fights in the sanyaku are met to get there. I just hope that, if I'm wrong, it becomes apparent from the way the schedule is set up.
