Kintamayama 41,316 Posted July 27, 2022 (edited) This one is going to be fun..So, do we demote Mitakeumi? What do we do with guys who withdrew before they got their MK/KK? And those that that got them after? And Brittney Spears? Does George Clooney really like coffee? This is a formal invitation to play the "Guess the Banzuke" game!! 25 years, 147 bashos. Please play. Gluten-free. Game rules: Guess the Banzuke. Simple. You get two points for a bulls-eye and one point for just getting the rank right. You get no points for expecting to see reason in the banzuke -makers' decisions. Tiebreakers - Most total guesses, then we check the banzuke backwards - getting the lower half right will be important. The most correct guesses in the last ten places will win the tiebreaker. If still tied, we go up a ranking at a time like a penalty shootout. If still tied, I suggest the best font used wins. Wingdings not allowed. It's up to you to check if you are on the list of entries. It's going to be your fault if you don't notice that your entry went missing in the Internet void. No late entries will be expected or accepted. Those are the rules, and the rules will never be changed. Just like the Banzuke is a living thing. For rules, standings and the book "Ichinojou's back!" which can be read in many ways: http://www.dichne.com/Guess.htm For the nifty entry form, which will hopefully continue to do what it's intended to do : http://sumodb.sumoga...b/GTBEntry.aspx For the "new" archives: http://sumodb.sumoga...gtbarchive.aspx See if you are on the entry list: http://sumodb.sumogames.de/gtb/GTBEntryList.aspx Deadline: Monday, August 22nd, 2022 at 18:00 GMT ("Give Me That!") - PLEASE NOTE-THIS IS ONE WEEK BEFORE THE OFFICIAL BANZUKE ANNOUNCEMENT!! Special thanks to Andoreasu who runs it, Doitsuyama who automates and maintains it and to real banzuke makers who always make me look bad. As we can change our entry afterwards, I don't see what's preventing us to make one already (ok, I didn't submit mine yet but it"s ready and I'll do it shortly!). Pitinosato 81 Posted August 3, 2022 I entered already, with a Banzuke made "somehow"... How I would do it - so I am pretty sure the NSK will do it totally different And I will not change it in my vacation I am really looking forward to the Ozumo Banzuke and how it will match with mine.... There are 3 reasonable guesses for M1e, based on completely different approaches they could take to san'yaku and the C-kyujo. Then there are a couple more possibilities, based on more unreasonable things they could do. That's the thing; usually we at least know the basic rules, even if they deviate from them or apply them inconsistently.

Maybe not directly, but the more curiosity there is about something—anything—the more likely relevant information slips, even if only a little more likely.

Sakura 1,295 Posted August 8, 2022 (edited) I don't know if I'm going to have time to do one this time around. I'm still jet-lagged and the Summer is busy. I didn't particpate last September and I don't want to have not participating affect my ranking. From the GTB website we have the following: The first kyujo has no effect on the ranking points - it will be treated as kosho. If you are absent consecutively for two bashos, the second kyujo counts as a zero. If you are absent consecutively for three bashos, the second and the third kyujo counts as a zero et cetera. After missing seven bashos in a row you will be unranked. Since I have not been absent since last year I am hoping that two absences in a 12-month span will be ok. Could people in the know confirm or not if that I will not lose any points if I am absent. Edited August 8, 2022 by Sakura

Jakusotsu 5,006 Posted August 10, 2022 It came together surprisingly easy once you applied a certain method to this madness, but of course it's far from certain that it's the correct method and the correct madness.
