Not as promptly as expected (sorry!), I am launching the game today and Profomisakari will be back for the day to day comments. So, let's play! HOW TO PLAY GAME 21 Shortly after the Banzuke is published, 21 potential bouts are selected by the admins. You just have to decide which bouts will or will not take place and, if they will, who you think will be the winners. Each correct pick will earn you one point. If a Rikishi is listed in one of the potential bouts but never appears on the Torikumi for the 15 days of the Basho, the bout will not count for the allocation of points (minor rules adjustment). If two or more entrants end up with the same number of correct picks, the two following tiebreaker rules will apply: TB1: entrants will earn TB points for their ability to spot winning outsiders (i.e. the fewer players pick up a Rikishi the more points you score) and the entrant with most TB points will be the winner. TB2: if the first tiebreaker does not suffice to separate them, the entrant with the earliest submission time will be declared the winner. The deadline to play is the Friday before Shonichi at 11 AM (JST), 2 AM (UTC) If you want to play, simply click the link below. it will take you to a multiple-choice form that will offer you three choices for each bout: A if you think the first Rikishi will win B if you think the second Rikishi will win X if you think the bout will not take place In addition to your picks and your Shikona, the form will ask for a valid email address. The reason for this request is (a) to allow the system to send you a copy of your picks and (b) to allow you to update your choices until the deadline by clicking the “Edit Response'' button that is in the email. Besides, after you have submitted your choices, you will have access to global selection statistics (not individual player’s picks). Until now we gave in such case one point for all players.This has the same effect for all participants and simplifies the results calculation. They all lead now with one point and the same TB1 value. (This cannot be otherwise with only one bout. So we have by TB2 (first input from the 22 leaders) our old friend Asojima. But it is to early to congratulate. The game will decided on Senshuraku! So leads as before Hakuhonofan with the best tiebreaker value in a group of now 8 players with each 4 points. Tomorrow we have again two game 21 points. (look about!) Only Benihana, Chishafuwaku and Tameiki had both, 13 other players had one bout correctly, the rest none. So Tameiki almost jumped to the top of the ranking table.Only Hakuhonofan stays now still before him - and only because he has the better TB2 value. Tomorrow we'll get once more two bouts for game 21: Chiyomaru vs. Oho and Shodai vs. Tamawashi. Only one bout we had on day 1, 2, 3, 6 and 9. On day 4, 7 and 8 we had two, on day 5 and 10 was but on day 5 and 10 was no such bout. Day 11 brings us again two bouts (No. 4 and 7).Day 12 will again bring no game 21 bout. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________ Comment to the result of bout 7 ( day 11 - point for Daietshos Fusen Sho): In our rules from 2008 is declared that a fusen Sho counts as a win!! We can discuss this to change for future, but today we must decide by this rule So wins bout 7 Daieisho against Kotonowaka (A). There were today to game 21 bouts on the torikumi.Chiyoshoma beat Takarafuji.The win of Daieisho against Kotonowaka was a Fusen Sho, but in our rules of 2008 we had decided, that a Fusen Sho counts as a real win.So we get the ranking like above. Hakuhonofan and Tameiki stay as ever with the same Point and >TB1 values, only with a different TB2. But they stay no more on the top, but only for the places 2 and 3 behind the new leader Chartorenji. Meanwhile we know that some bouts no more can take place, so that no more much players will have a chance for the final yusho. But we will see it. ________________________________________________________________ On day 12 we'll no have any game 21 bout.
