Yeah, i hope Ura's knees hold, so we'll have a long "feud" for the title of who's the no.1 little, wily, leg grabbing annoyance on the dohyo.

Wakatakakage pulled a Hoshoryu in defeating Hoshoryu, earning kachikoshi with 8 straight wins after 3 straight losses to start the basho.

On the plus side, there’s never been a weaker line up to secure 10 wins against. Though Shodai is scheduled for his kachikoshi basho next time …

Aaand Mitakeumi's Ozeki tenure is over. I hope he get's rid of that injury, which is obviously hampering him, to rebounce next basho.

Right now I'm not sure that Mitakeumi could secure 10 wins from M17, much less Sekiwake.

It’s harder from M17 though. There’s actually good rikishi down there.

Am I right in thinking he’s had the longest losing streak as an Ozeki though? Possibly a longer one over two basho?

No, not even close. Terunofuji’s 2-13 had a 13-loss streak. Forgot about that one.

After two 4-3 from Ms4 and Ms2, Roga finally seems to have scratched and clawed his way to Juryo. Kudos to him.

Yeah, I was just thinking of the consecutive. I knew 2-13 was the worst record. Terunofuji also had a 9-bout losing streak as Ozeki same as Shodai to go with his 13.

Tobizaru KK at M1 - who'd have predicted that? 
Iffy hinkaku, but win or lose Ura always looks like he absolutely loves his job.

It feels so unfair that injury has dropped Mitakeumi back to sekiwake while Shodai just keeps getting away with unexplained abysmal performances, but that's sumo...
I hope Mitakeumi drops out tomorrow to maximise his recuperation for an attempt at 10 wins in November.

Tamawashi's yusho to lose now. I can't decide if he's got a point to prove about his interrupted consecutive bout run, or the palaver over it drew his attention to the record books and he spotted Kyokutenho's title was up for grabs.
