There are only THREE Makuuchi rikishi who weigh LESS than Wakatakakage (131kg) --- 1) Terutsuyoshi (111kg), 2) Midorifuji (112kg) and 3) Ishiura (119kg).  Amazing!  Or to phrase it better, ALL of the Makuuchi rikishi weigh MORE than Wakatakakage with the exception of those three!

Yep, although different levels of ability, Waka is very Chiyonofuji-ish. Even with that lack of weight he's able to overpower much bigger opponents regularly. Maybe the pound-for-pound strongest rikishi at the moment..

Hosh also chonking up I see..

This is so interesting, for a fair while now it's been apparent that Tochinoshin had lost his more muscular physique. You'd have to imagine a large part of this loss is muscle mass -- which to me indicates he's ditched the strength training to the level he was doing it during his ozeki run/tenure. Seems as clear an indication as any he's winding down.

That's pretty big for Enho if I remember right (maybe his heaviest yet?).

You're right.  Per wikipedia (his page was updated Jan 23, 2022), he weighed 97kg (214 lbs) at that time.  I don't recall him ever weighing over 99kg.

And Ichi as well? Has he been heavier than that?

I don't think so.  The heaviest I recall him being was 207kg (456 lbs), and as I recall he took a break from sweets for a while in order to lose weight.  His wikipedia page was updated on Nov 28, 2021 and at that time he was 206kg (454 lbs).  He must be hitting the sweets again or maybe not getting enough exercise due to the pandemic.  It goes without saying that 211kg (465 lbs) is huge!

Wikipedia actually has him up to 227kg (under "fighting style"), and from my memory that's where he topped out.

In the US and maybe elsewhere, being dense means you're stupid.

The first time I REALLY noticed how tall Kagayaki is, was when he was in the ring with Enho  Enho had to almost reach up to try to get to Kagayaki's mawashi while Kagayaki had to bend way over and reach down to get at Enho's.

Though he is clearly not as strong as once was, to me it looks he has lost most of the weight around his waist.  My guess is he is trying to extend his career by reducing the pressure on what is left of his knee.

This also makes sense, yeah.
