Teppo question is it for fitness or rhythm?

Recommended Posts

I have been trying to work more teppo but I'm still unsure of the core function of teppo. Is the idea that teppo helps build arm strength or is it more a drill to develop coordination between the hands and feet?

Because if it's rhythm I can go softly on a corner in my apartment. If it's power I need to go outside to a tree.

It's mainly for building arm strength. The idea is to only use one arm to push your entire body weight backwards.

I've started doing it more and it's easier than a push up but good for endurance and footwork.

Can't it be both?

Sure but I was more wondering if I was wasting my time if I wasn't hitting the pole hard. Because I can't  smack my apartment wall like that.
