As an Oyakata though what matters is not just experience and ability but the ability to to teach, communicate, recruit, etc.

And what makes you think Ichinojo qualifies less than the majoritiy of the current crop?

You left out quoting the second part of my post:

He may be good at it or may not. I don't know. We'll find out eventually.

Rikishi "Coach what do I need to do to get to makuuchi?"

Ichinojo "Be tall and gain a lot of weight."

Riksihi " But I'm 5' 7""

Ichinojo "Grow, that's what I did."

Rikishi "Thanks coach"

I want to see Ichinojo as one of the oyakatas who slims down to a normal civilian weight.

Japanese name- Miura Takashi, the Miura coming from his Oyakata's real name. The Takashi comes from his own shikona.

I saw those articles that make it look like it has become known today, while Jiji knew it weeks ago

Jiji reports that he has taken the naturalised name of Miura Takashi Takeshi, adopting the surname of Minato-oyakata (real name Miura Takayuki, ex-Minatofuji).

The only new information is maybe that Ichinojo started the application about 2 years ago
