Amamaniac 2,079 Posted September 23, 2021 Hasn't been mentioned, but recent bow-twirler Shohoryu withdrew today. At least he struck it out until he got his makekoshi on Day 10. Since no details were given about Shishi's withdrawal, I have to conclude that when unsalaried wrestlers suffer injuries, the details are protected by Japan's equivalent of the Health Information Act covered up...

Checked, all I could find was Biggus Dickus. I think you meant his wife Incontinentia Buttocks - which oddly enough is more suitable for the injury Takayasu's allegedly got according to Dr Google. 37 minutes ago, Amamaniac said: Since no details were given about Shishi's withdrawal, I have to conclude that when unsalaried wrestlers suffer injuries, the details are protected by Japan's equivalent of the Health Information Act covered up... More like unless they're really hot stuff, the papers and the NSK don't give a rat's ass about reporting their withdrawals as they would with sekitori, so it depends on whether the heya in question has enough of a SNS game to inform sumo fans of their wrestlers' condition. Tokitsukaze-oyakata (former Maegashira Tosayutaka) says he has a torn trapezius muscle and tendon damage, and eventually the pain increased to where he had to pull out. Eh, not to sound like an uncaring bastard, but it meant we got to see Satonofuji in action again. I'm fine with that.

Exactly.. - former Juryo for two bashos, Onoe oyakata's nephew, out for the last 4 bashos with an injury. Now intai. Now intai. he's probably best know as Aminishiki's final opponent. wow that's unexpected. he wasn't too bad last time we saw him in Juryo, coming in from a makushita yusho. thought he would make another comeback eventually, shame to see him go. the first of those kyujo were corona related, could that have played a role?
