Ms5w Akiseyama kyujo again. It's looking like it may be too long a road back for the 36-year-old.

Since he's not officially listed and no torikumi for day 5 published yet, let's hope it's not Covid related.

If it was COVID-related I would have expected the rest of the stable to be quarantined and that hasn't happened. Daishoho has already fought today.

Taking tests right now, waiting for the results. He has a fever. If he's positive, it's going to be interesting.

Cellulitis seems possible.

That could certainly cause a fever if the case is a severe one- speaking from direct personal experience.

Does that really mean he's back or was it just too late to adjust?

The torikumi were late and just came out when I posted that, Shibatayama declared that the negative PCR test allowed it and that they'll wait and see

Which is good and I hope it stays that way, but I think they are putting too much stock in it. They often come back negative the first time and positive a day or two later. It's more important that his fever went down quickly which is hopefully what happened and why they put him back and not just the negative test. IMO they should have isolated him for 3 days at least.

Yeah, I had a really bad fever from something resembling cellulitis on my face this winter, and a flare up a few weeks ago.  I wonder if our struggle to control viruses is making bacteria infections more likely?

Hokutofuji has withdrawn. Knee injury, not fever. Takanosho will get the fusen.
