sumojoann 924 Posted June 10 (edited) I don't see any mention of this on Sumo Forum and I hope it's okay with the moderators to quote from an article on tachiai.org along with providing a link to the article. The Dallas Sumo Club announced that tomorrow, Sat, June 11, they will be holding an amateur sumo event called the "Cowboy Cup" in Ft Worth, Texas, at the Panther Island Pavilion. It will take place between noon and 4 PM. It will feature rikishi from all over Texas along with competitors from across the US. Tickets are still available (see link in article), and there is also a link if you want to sign up to compete. Please note that the event will take place outdoors and the temperature will be above 100 degrees F. (38 degrees C.)! https://tachiai.org/ Edited June 10 by sumojoann To correct date to Sat, June 11th, NOT June 10th

Corey Morrison 154 Posted June 20 It was a helluva hoedown at Dallas-beya! The sumotori were hungry for training and relentless in their pursuit to hone in their brand of sumo. We have a fun Q&A session, award ceremony and interview segment at the end. Please leave a question in the comments you'd like answered by Dallas Sumo Club rikishi in the next video! Corey Morrison 154 Posted June 27 We've decided to pickup the pace of our keiko and try more of a traditional heya approach, doing away with most of the pre-match rituals before every bout. We were joined by several shin-deshi (first timers) and they absolutely blew us away, figuratively and literally! We have short interviews with them at the end, along with a good-sized Q&A segment! Please leave a question in the comments you'd like answered by Dallas Sumo Club rikishi in the next video! sumojoann 924 Posted June 27 Corey, please contact me via Sumo Forum Messaging regarding the huge lot of free Japanese-language Sumo Wrestling magazines that I offered you back in April. I need to know if you're still interested before I offer them to anyone else.
Corey Morrison 154 Posted July 2 (edited) Dallas Sumo Club was joined by two members of the United States of America Sumo Team competing in the World Games 2022 in Birmingham, Alabama, USA this month for a joint-training session to help prepare them! Although several of us were injured, we did our best to gambarize. Robert Fuimaono (Heavyweight) and Justin Kizzart (Lightweight) shared a lot of knowledge with us between matches and it was an honor to host them. Enjoy the hilarious Q&A at the end... がんばって TEAM USA! Please leave a question in the comments or here you'd like answered by Dallas Sumo Club rikishi in the next video! sumojoann 924 Posted July 3 I admire all y'alls hard work and dedication to the sport of sumo. Indeed, what an honor to host Robert Fuimaono and Justin Kizzart. Justin must be in his late 30s, yet he is in amazing condition. Questions -- Will any of the members of the Dallas Sumo Club be attending the World Games as spectators? By the time you make your next video, will the Games be over? It would be interesting to hear the impressions of anyone who attended.
Corey Morrison 154 Posted July 12 (edited) Our sumotori dust off the dohyō after a week without proper keiko. There's a lot of motivation to gambarize coming off the end of The World Games 2022 Birmingham and the start of the Nagoya Basho in Japan. Also, the "Gunyō" brothers complete their official club uniform with the addition of their official Dallas-beya zekken - おめでとう!
