Fairly even I think. Myogiryu faces Ozeki Shodai and Onosho is against Sekiwake Meisei, so by rank Ichinojo is the weakest opponent. I don’t think there’s much between those three on form, so they’re all about the same threat level. Endo’s record against the big man isn’t great though, whereas the other pairings are pretty much evenly split.

Ichinojo has been crushing for the last 4 days and is hell bent on a KK. I think he'll get it. Maybe not Day 14 though.

Meisei has staved off a makekoshi two days running, inc with that win over Terunofuji, so he’s got a little hot streak going of his own. Both should be highly motivated opponents for Endo and Onosho tomorrow.

I don't think that Takakeisho is going to willingly make it easy for Terunofuji, but I don't think he's going to represent an obstacle to him, either. So for Onosho and Myogiryu, I think their best bet now is to convince Hakuho to show ringside before the match and hit Terunofuji with a folding chair while the gyoji isn't looking.

Oh, man. I only just realized that the the equivalent of the folding chair in sumo is the zabuton and Hakuho is going to have to hit Terunofuji REALLY HARD with that pillow to have any effect on the yusho race.

I had a friend post to Facebook from Japan about something that indicated what day it was there, and there was one person who was like "What do you mean it's Wednesday?  It's still Tuesday."  I responded "Japan is so advanced, they're always in the future."

Out of the remaining rikishi with the possibility of winning (except for Teru of course) Endo would be the only one I wouldn’t consider a fluke. He is inconsistent but when he is on the guy has beautiful technique and is capable of beating absolutely anyone. And he doesn’t just accidentally beat Yokozuna by sheer luck or whatever, when he is on the guy can out grapple and flat out dominate Yokozuna level guys and we’ve seen it vs hakuho, kakuryu and Teru

He is like a video game character that every once in a while uses a cheat code, it’s crazy.

So if endo shows 3 straight days of his best sumo then absolutely, endo yusho it is. 
 

sadly it won’t happen since we tend to get those 3 days of epic endo sumo spread out throughout a year.

Endo is on a deceptively good run of form too. He had to go kyujo last basho so it’s easy to miss, but in May he also got 11 wins.

Since time is a circle and circles are round, he is both 12 hours before and 12 hours behind Japanese time. This is how Hulk Hogan managed to wrestle 400 days in a year in the 80ies, with all the flying back and forth. At least he said so... 

Other than quite a few times during the last tournaments when lower ranked Rikishi were in contention they seem to be sticking with the usual scheduling for the senshuraku match ups. Might be less worrying for Terunofuji, as weird as it sounds. I guess we'll have to see.

Hanakaze gets his kachi-koshi at age 51! In his 212th career basho, Hanakaze defeated 16 year old Asashorei by uwatenage to secure his first kachi-koshi since January. No mention of what the actual age record is for kachi-koshi

I think I say this almost every basho, but there is a man who wants to stay in sumo and fights every match like he’s got to win it. I don’t know how many more basho we’ll see him around for but I do know sumo will be poorer when he’s moved on.

In my opinion,
If Terunofuji loses to Takakeisho today, he’ll play another 3-losses rikishi tomorrow and we will have ozekis showdown.
But there will be some possibility Terunofuji face another 3-losses rikishi tomorrow even he win today (and forcing playoff if he lose tomorrow) 

Or Terunofuji vs Shodai tomorrow?

Kirishima Oyakata, guest on the NHK broadcast, just said Kiribayama hurt his right foot during his Wakatakakage match and can barely walk, but wanted to continue in the basho. 

Helps explain his drop-off over the past few days.
