An ex-rikishi you-tuber who now calls himself Edomondo Chan (his mother seems to be from the Philippines - with also Spanish and Mexican ancestry, so that might be his name from her side) was at the audition for BreakingDown6, a fight event on Abema, and squashed someone who had the job to provoke him. 220kg now, though Enshunada, who it has to be from the data on his self presentation, was way below that weight while active.

Ex-Hirotsukasa recently posts regularly self-PR videos on the YT channel of the sumo rock band he's a member of: Chankoponchy https://twitter.com/chankoponchy

Shiko stamping for every occasion: live events, sumo fitness, jinku, chanko nabe, pray for success, celebrations - and the original function:  quell the grounds

As discovered on Reddit recently, ex-Hirotsukasa is apparently travelling the world now and partly funding his travels by doing sumo street performances under the name "Gocchanko"; the Reddit poster spotted him in Melbourne, and according to his Twitter account he was in Mexico prior to that.

In November Gotchanko did street performances in a shopping district in Tokyo - every day he performs somewhere.

Ex-Hayateumi since 2014 is member of the Aomori pref. assembly, presently in his 3rd term, and this summer will be running for the LDP at the upper house elections in the Aomori electoral district.

Apparently Hayateumi/Saito had quit his seat in the Aomori pref. assembly o, he tried to regain it yesterday but lost to the present member https://go2senkyo.com/local/senkyo/22189/42915

Hayateumi failed, but former Kotokogyoku,  Hibiki Uruga was elected, in his hometown, to the Matsumoto city council

Ft-WYFjakAAmVJ-.jpg:largeo

The tweet with his poster gives "former secretary of that Mutai" as his recent occupation. Lower house member Shunsuke Mutai on his site mentioned the success of his former employee. https://www.mutai-shunsuke.jp/activity/

Had he also won with a recent picture on his poster? That seems to be before he joined sumo.

He started to learn playing the  violin at age 3. According to the oyakata, the first member of some parliament from Sadogatake-beya.

Ex-Chikarayama, Riki Suzuki, eldest son of the former Arashio-oyakata, with his elder sister opened the sumo shop Rikizan-/Chikarayama-shoten YORIKIRI on May 14th, a 3 seconds walk away from the heya. He retired after Hatsu 2017, worked for 2 years at a cleaning company and then helped with clerical work at the heya. For 3 years he was preparing the opening of the shop, but Corona stopped him from doing so. The rikishi help him for PR when keiko is over, Taiga made 150 foreign visitors who watched from outside the heya go to the shop by shouting "This is no.1 sumo shop!" o

Ex-Masunoyama looked like a ball when active, now he looks like any ordinary staff in the care for the elderly, where he started his 2nd career now, with the initial qualification in the business, work beginner in training. He stopped to eat deep fried food and switched to a low fat diet, that brought him from 187kg down to 102kg, his ligament ossification problems (OLF and OPLL) got better and also the condition of his lower back.

He had his danpatsu-shiki on April 2nd and works now at a rehabilitation facility for the elderly in Arakawa ward.

Now for his 33rd birthday after training Masunoyama looks even more different, he posted the comparison to 10 years ago, down from 185kg to 92kg, aiming for 85kg

How easy is it for ex-rikishi to lose fat while maintaining muscle (assuming they were trying), relative to your average schmoe trying to bulk up? Easier, I guess?

Yutakayama is the other one that comes to mind who's had a nice slim down too.

Yutakayama last month was on the panel at a forum in Joetsu, Niigata to think about health management of employees in companies - as the owner of a personal gym - and also there talked about losing weight and aiming for the Tokyo marathon o
