As it turns out, NHK World commentators were spreading misinformation about the 9-way playoff on at least two of their broadcasts, while FB actually provides a factual and very useful resource. Also keep in mind that the winner of this Reiwa Era 9-way playoff had to fight more bouts than his opponent in the final. It's almost as though having to fight more bouts provides wrestlers with an edge in these elimination affairs...
