Unfortunately that won't be enough to hide it, because the big TV networks are actually part of the Content ID program these days (not for all programs though, so I guess it's possible, but I assume it will get taken down eventually). I've occasionally ripped TV program segments for a friend's sento and sometimes they get taken down real quickly despite not having the program name anywhere. I've uploaded it to the Internet Archive, which is far less of a target for takedowns. Let's see if it stays up there. My experience is that they don't really care about anything that isn't Youtube. You can download the original file from here too if you want.

It should work, it's just a plain mp4 file in a <video> tag, but if it doesn't you can download the file itself under "download options" and play it locally. But yeah, it is in Japanese. I've often thought it would be awesome if there was a collaborative online video subbing platform so communities could work together to sub things like this. But, I digress, I'm getting off-topic... Katooshu 3,332 Posted March 25, 2021 (edited) No record, but I think a solid showing for a 19 year old in his 4th basho, one that gives him more credibility than any of the individual zenshos did. And when someone in makushita can pull off a KK after starting with 2 or 3 losses I think it often shows some mental strength. He looked like he was in bad shape the first couple of matches but put together a string of wins, either by luck or strength. He could have easily lost his match yesterday after a slow tachiai but recovered quickly and took control. Wonder if he'll get another win?
Kaito 311 Posted March 25, 2021 Reminder, the only person who had ever started 7-0, 7-0, 7-0 at Hokuseiho's age was future Ozeki Tochiazuma, who then went 3-4 at ms23e. Hokuseiho unfortunately drew Tokisakae for his first match in Makushita (currently 6-0), but now sits at 4-2 at ms15w. He's still on a phenomenal path. (Although he'll need to go back to 7-0 next basho to keep pace with the former Ozeki!) As for that "slow tachiai" in his last match, I thought that was the most ridiculous matta, but it seems like the gyoji always gives up after calling two. Asakoki didn't even begin to move his hand towards the ground before charging early and he caught Hokuseiho right at the moment that he was beginning his own movement towards the ground. 1

Katooshu 3,332 Posted March 28, 2021 (edited) And the big man finishes 5-2, beating upper makushita mainstay Shiba with a yorikiri. Nice work Seiho! 5-2 at that rank is a very nice result for a 19 year old in his 4th basho. Edited March 28, 2021 by Katooshu
Kishinoyama 596 Posted March 28, 2021 I didn't believe that Hokuseiho would go 7-0. I was hoping for a 6-1 but I thought that he would probably go 5-2. When I saw how taped up he was on day two for his first match, I was wondering if he could even finish the tournament! Great job Hokuseiho!
pricklypomegranate 730 Posted March 28, 2021 It is indeed surprising to me that he reached 5-2 without a viable tachiai. I suspect that his need to bend down constantly due to his height and his tendency to lift his opponent or their centre of gravity with his back is contributing to his back issues. To survive in Ms6 or Ms7, which I suspect he will be promoted to, he will need to heal his back so that he has at least a decent tachiai. If he at least replicates this score in his next promotion, he will be a sekitori in time for Hak's final outing in July (if he wins his 4D chess with the YDC). No promises that he won't be immediately booted out of Juryo ala Enho style though.

Katooshu 3,332 Posted May 18, 2021 (edited) Another KK for the towering yorikiri machine, now 4-1 at Ms 9e. At this rate, even having missed a basho, he could make juryo while still a teenager... Edited May 18, 2021 by Katooshu
