And now the escalation. I don't know if MMA has heels, so I say that Takakenshin cherishes the role of a villain - he wants to make sure nobody will be rooting for him in his fights: "I decided to definitely get my opponent stained in blood". He said before that he always wanted to hit people and now is happy that he'll be "earning money by hitting people".

Weigh-in today for MMA shindeshi Takakenshin: 133.45kg vs. 115.05kg for the opponent, who will gambarize to not get his face split.

Big mouth Takakenshin lost his debut fight in the 2nd round by TKO, Shrek did a war cry afterwards

The RIZIN guys expected more from him, the CEO: "I don't want to hear excuses. For the next while there is no use (for him)." - maybe this is already the end of his MMA career

- there was no need to have his debut fight in April, he is too heavy, he should have dropped his weight to 120kg - go to America for 1, 2 years and train, before that we have no use for you

The debut was originally planned for August, September

The fight (likely a short lived video, RIZIN will post the proper one later)

His standup was decent for a novice MMA fighter, but as soon as Shrek decided to grapple that was it. Handled like it was man vs boy. As much as I dislike him it got uncomfortable to watch at the end.

Next the other brother fights the Shrek, Sudario vs. Hideki “Shrek” Sekine is scheduled for July 31st at the Saitama Super Arena for RIZIN 37. Sudario got injured last November and had no fight for a while. About a comparison to his brother: "At this stage the level is different". The 2 had no exchange of information. https://www.daily.co.jp/ring/2022/06/24/0015413245.shtml

Can't say I ever thought I'd see the day where Shrek was a gatekeeper of sorts, but this is rather fun. Will be cheering for him to take the win.

I don't wish them to get injured or have bad health but I don't like the twins. I am always cheering for the other guy to win.

Both go into the fight at 117kg.

After his left knee injury Sudario was in the US to train, with Timothy Johnson and others

Re: Taka Twins vs. "Shrek"

Takagenji was 8-2 vs Yago, Takanofuji 1-0.

So, good performance against the real Shrek.

Next opponent for Sudario at RIZIN39 on the 23rd in Fukuoka is Janos Csukas from somehow Hungary (on the Japanese side https://jp.rizinff.com/_ct/17575337) but usually from Romania https://jp.rizinff.com/_ct/17575854

Quote

Since tasting his first defeat as a professional MMA fighter, Sudario has scored quick back-to-back KO victories over SAINT and Hideki ‘Shrek’ Sekine, in a combined 2 minutes 44 seconds. He now is granted his wish of facing international competition in the form of the unbeaten Romanian, Janos Csukas. Carrying a 7-0 record with 6 KOs and 1 submission - the former WCMMA Heavyweight Champion has won all of his bouts in the first round. His longest bout lasted 3 minutes and 24 seconds, with the rest of his bouts ending at or under 1 minute and 46 seconds. He has 4 finishes in under a minute. There is little doubt that this heavyweight tilt will be a fan-friendly affair.

Sudario is now attached to High Rollers Entertainment https://hi-rollers.tokyo/fighter.html and no longer to Purebred (VPN needed) with his (apparently former) trainer Enson Inoue wiki/Enson_Inoue#Other_activities

Edit: Sudario is not on the poster for the event https://d1uzk9o9cg136f.cloudfront.net/f/16782696/rc/2022/10/07/b0c1bac44614569184c88e1b71bce5f95232a8fc_xlarge.jpg

Interesting to hear he's parted ways with Enson. That connection was one of the few reasons I had any regret in cheering against him. I'm now regret free, at least in this regard!

Takakenshin planned to do a heavy weight fight (up to 120kg), was 123.5 kg at the earlier weigh-in and the fight had to be changed to open weight, but till today he managed to drop 4kg and was 119.75 at the weigh-in the day before the fight. No boasting this time, he knows he's the underdog. He uses Taka's yokozuna promotion motto now, futoufukutsu 不撓不屈.

Today Takakenshin made a surprise appearance at a press conference ahead of the upcoming Antonio Inoki memorial “BOM-BA-YE” event, co-promoted by Ganryūjima and Inoki Genki Factory, scheduled for December 28th at the Ryōgoku Kokugikan.

In the middle of the press conference, former Takanofuji Tadao Yasuda appeared - wearing a hard hat and proclaiming to be on “break from work” (a tongue-in-cheek reference to his recent purported occupation as a safety officer for railways), pulling Takakenshin on stage with him in an appeal to producer Naoya Ogawa - “please give him a fight!” he pleaded before hastily rushing off back to “work”.

Ogawa, clearly convinced by Yasuda’s expert salesmanship granted the request, with promoter Sadaharu Tanikawa agreeing that it would be a waste for Takakenshin to come all this way just for a photo with Ogawa.

Totally a pro wrestling angle… who knows, maybe Takakenshin will have to resort to that if he loses this one
