Ishiura has suffered an ankle injury

about 2 weeks ago, diagnosed with 4 weeks of treatment necessary.

Miyagino-oyakata tells the same about Ishiura as about Hakuho: he can't even do the sumo crouch (sonkyo): "He's exercising the upper body, but is in no condition to do keiko. The ankle is so bad that he can't do sonkyo and can't bend it."

All of Kagamiyama-beya has withdrawn. Well, both of them, anyway.

And Gagamaru continues to plummet...

Sanyaku gyoji Kimura Konosuke is kyujo from this basho due to poor health.

As mentioned elsewhere tate gyoji Shikimori Inosuke is back on duty, having missed the July basho with poor health too.

There goes my basho. Who is going to remind me to get my hands down?

I don't know which of the dozens of songs with those lyrics you're referencing, but they are all ... uh ... "classic".(Anotheryearolder...)

This is the one that I think of... although (having just listened to it), those hands should be waving!

The medical certificates for the 3 injured sekitori - the other 3 were forced to go kyujo and don't need one

Hakuho: about 3 weeks rehabilitation treatment necessary as of the 9th, for MPFL damage of the right knee and in the joint a giant (non-malignant) cell tumor, TGCT

Kakuryu: about 2 weeks of resting treatment necessary as of the 10th, with suspected lumbar disc disease

Ishiura: about 3 weeks treatment necessary as of the 10th, for a right anklebone fracture, sustained on day 14 of last basho

One rikishi withdraws ahead of Day 3:

Sd75w Kaonishiki

And one gyoji enters which should make someone happy:

Should have been "potential poor health" - Konosuke's wife was alerted by a contact tracing app about possible contact with someone infected with COVID, so he was kyujo as a precaution. Both have been tested and are negative, so Konosuke will join the basho from Day 3.

With fewer matches and all the gyoji showing up, I suggest that they special-assign Konosuke to Akua's matches in Juryo until he gets his fists down.

They should get Konosuke to deliver "Te wo aratte"/Wash your hands PSAs.
