Might still be Takanosho, but I'll go out on a limb and say

Day 15 - Kotoeko

15 - Takanosho looks fine to me.

I think it'll be Takanosho but I am compelled to say something different to make it interesting:

15 Not Takanosho

15 Tamawashi

Final results:

If there ever was a curveball...but seriously, Shohozan vs. Ichinojo? The last instance of a similarly disparate pairing was almost 17 years ago!

No matter, as nobody but the evil Kyokai scored on Senshuraku, chishafuwaku ran away with the yusho on tie-breakers, leaving Yokozuna Sakura with a doten performance (reversing their roles from last basho). Congratulations!

I think it is a good match-up. The winner will likely be in Makunouchi in September, the loser in Juryo....  So all to play for!

I apologize for my absence most of this basho, but sumo games are on the back burner for me.  I initially entered by just following the train the first few days, but when I didn't get the inclination to set up things for real for Day 4, I wasn't about to continue that charade.  I really like this game, and the setup needed to see things clearly isn't all that hard, but doing it is part of the normal setup I did for all the games (besides GTB), so when I don't do that setup, it makes it harder to play just this game even if it doesn't need the full set up and tweaks that playing all the games do.  I don't know whether I'll be interested next time around either.  We'll just have to see...

things are crazy when July basho ends in August, BEFORE the ChampionsLeague Finals, there’s no Tour de France during Nagoya basho and Oktoberfest starts in September !!

wait, no Oktoberfest in 2020 ??

well, on my way to Munich Biergarden now !

thanks everyone for playin the most difficult game EVVA (especially the early deadline); stay healthy; BUY Gold & Silver and DO your DAILY KEIKO !!!

Comments:
Yokozuna Sakura showed why she is the dai-Yokozuna, once again performing at the highest level, and just falling short of the yusho.
Yokozuna Jakusotsu did not perform at an Ozeki level, despite being strongly requested to do so. The thinking is that he may no longer be capable of performing as a Yokozuna. We await to hear a statement from Yokozuna Jakusotsu.
Yokozuna Kuroimori was expected to perform better than of late this basho. He failed to turn up. He will be expected to turn up and perform better in September.
After missing last basho, Yokozuna Gurowake did not manage to last long this basho. Gurowake has made comments in this thread. No more pressure will be put on him at this moment in time. We will wait to see how he feels in September.

chishafuwaku won the yusho. He is thereby promoted to Yokozuna. Omedetou!

Ending the basho at shared 3rd place gives me enough confidence that I'll be able to ganbarize once more. (Bow...)

And congrats to new Yokozuna chishafuwaku! (Applauding...)

Let's hope that the number of players will grow again lest we'll have half of the banzuke consisting of Y/O. At that point we should consider using Profomisakari's method he invented for the late Maegashira Game.
