For the snowflakes, I'm not reacting to the unfortunate Tomokaze's ongoing absence (I still wince at the memory of him in the wheelchair...), but the notion of the audience being kyujo did make me laugh when I clicked on this thread.

Well done and thank you, Yubinhaad.

I get what's going to happen to Tomokaze, but how many levels will the crowd drop with a 0-0-15?  What's the record, db gurus?

Well, as long as the Kyokai doesn't decide that ticket buyers deserve unpaid status...

Sokokurai (probably next Arashio-oyakata) kyujo, we probably won’t be seeing him playing one last time.

Also Bariki, the crooked guy. It hurts me so much seeing his bad posture. I’m afraid it will affect his quality of life.

Bariki's quality of life must already be messed up if that's how good he looked after three years of kyujo and banzuke-gai.

Also, ouch for Gokushindo. Just as he was recovering his lost ground.

Gagamaru's knees are spent and Sokokurai will take over Arashio in the very near future. At least one of them not being on the next banzuke wouldn't be a surprise.

One will definitely not be on the next banzuke. Will both of them be gone?

Hey, QI gives their audience a score (and the audience even won an episode), so why not the NSK?

Four withdrawals from the bottom two divisions ahead of Day 3. Taranami was the rikishi who had a fever and was advised to go kyujo, as reported by Kintamayama.

Jd1e Dewaazuma

Jd1w Tomiyutaka

Depending on the date of Arashio's 65th birthday, Sokokurai might be on Natsu's banzuke (precisely ms41e)

Banzuke committee will meet on the 25th, so he definitively will. Or the rank be blanked, at best.

The day 5 torikumi announcement is more than an hour late.  No new kyujo announcements yet.

Thank you. I thought I was going crazy and just forgot what time it usually came out. I'm wondering if this means they have multiple rikishi pulling out late.

Two withdrawals and a return ahead of Day 5.

Out:

Ms7w Irodori - 0-2 with a fusenpai today, reportedly still struggling with the right knee which was injured last basho.

Jd35w Chiyotaiko - 0-2.

Return:

Jd11e Taranami

One other note, Tomisakae was in a lot of pain today with an upper arm injury, his left arm got twisted awkwardly at the end of his bout against Tsurubayashi, which he won. I expect him to withdraw at the next update (although he is in Isegahama-beya so who knows...)

I highly doubt the chance of a ruptured ACL healing in 3 weeks time... but then we are talking Sumo recovery times here :-S
