If they don't drop meisei and kotoyuki as far as they usually would to solve that gap I'm gonna be sad.

Well, I'm in. Barely. This is going to be a very rough game for a while.

I have Kotoyuki going down but not Meisei.

118 entries, the most since Nagoya 2006 I believe?

Here's mine:

Hakuho (Ye 1-3-11)        Y    Kakuryu (Yw 1-4-10)
Takakeisho (Oe 11-4)      O    ---
Asanoyama (Se 10-5)       S    Shodai (M4w 13-2)
Hokutofuji (M2e 11-4)     K    Endo (M1e 9-6)

Daieisho (Kw 7-8)         M1   Takayasu (Sw 6-9)
Okinoumi (M4e 8-7)        M2   Yutakayama (M9w 11-4)
Mitakeumi (M2w 7-8)       M3   Ryuden (M8w 10-5)
Abi (Ke 5-10)             M4   Enho (M5w 8-7)
Onosho (M7w 9-6)          M5   Myogiryu (M1w 5-10)
Tokushoryu (M17w 14-1 Y)  M6   Kagayaki (M11w 10-5)
Takarafuji (M6e 7-8)      M7   Tamawashi (M3e 5-10)
Shohozan (M7e 7-8)        M8   Kiribayama (M17e 11-4)
Takanosho (M9e 7-8)       M9   Tochinoshin (M6w 5-10)
Sadanoumi (M10e 7-8)      M10  Tochiozan (M16e 9-6)
Chiyotairyu (M11e 7-8)    M11  Terutsuyoshi (M14e 8-7)
Ishiura (M10w 6-9)        M12  Ikioi (M15w 8-7)
Kotoshogiku (M13e 7-8)    M13  Kaisei (M16w 8-7)
Tsurugisho (M12e 6-9)     M14  Aoiyama (M8e 4-11)
Chiyomaru (M12w 6-9)      M15  Azumaryu (M15e 7-8)
Nishikigi (J4e 11-4)      M16  Shimanoumi (M14w 6-9)
Meisei (M5e 1-7-7)        M17  Kotoyuki (M3w 0-0-15)
Daiamami (J6e 11-4)       M18  ---

I expect high overall scores if it's really just 7 sanyaku, rather not so high if not...

Couldn't justify dropping Meisei or Kotoyuki for the two J2's with their not-really-necessary-to-promote 8-7 records.

I dropped Kotoyuki but kept Meisei. I figured with Kotoyuki having surgery and never starting he would go. I promoted Kotonowaka, with Tomokaze out he was basically a J1 last basho IMO.

Did not get a confirmation email but I am on the list of entries so I hope it's okay. Maybe I mistyped my email.

Mine was this:

Kakuryu        Y    Hakuho
Takakeisho     O    ---
Asanoyama      S    Shodai
Hokutofuji     K    Endo

Daieisho          M1   Takayasu
Okinoumi          M2   Mitakeumi
Abi               M3   Tokushoryu
Yutakayama        M4   Enho
Ryuden            M5   Onosho
Kagayaki          M6   Myogiryu
Takarafuji        M7   Tamawashi
Shohozan          M8   Kiribayama
Tochiozan         M9   Takanosho
Tochinoshin       M10  Sadanoumi
Chiyotairyu       M11  Ishiura
Teurtsuyoshi      M12  Aoiyama
Kotoshogiku       M13  Ikioi
Kaisei            M14  Tsurugisho
Azumaryu          M15  Chiyomaru
Nishikigi         M16  Daiamami
Kotonowaka        M17  Shimanoumi
Meisei            M18  ---

In that case, my condolences. I did the same.

So no one put Hokutofuji in SW instead of Shodai?

Let's hope you are wrong, but losing hope...

Am I the only one who slipped Tokoshoryu in at K2W?

My thinking is that the sanyaku is looking a little empty, so an extra komusubi would help, and I distinctly remember this banzuke....

But, Takatoriki had already spent almost 10 years in makuuchi including a boatload of sanyaku bashos.  Tokushoryu does not fit that profile. In the makuuchi continuum, Takatoriki went from number 41 to 12.  Tokushoryu would go from 42 to 8. (Detective...)

I just felt that if they didn't feel compelled to make one for Asanoyama at M8 they wouldn't for M17.

With Shodai having 2 more wins and the sole Jun Yusho from 2 ranks behind? I didn't even think about it.

I should have printed my selection, even though I know how lame it probably is...  If I keep playing, though, at least I may quit asking the forum, "Where do you think so-and-so (usually some small under-rated rikishi) go in the next banzuke?"

Don't be discouraged, it took me 13 basho before I managed my first kk.  Finally getting over that hump was super satisfying and I am glad I kept trying.

I did put Hokutofuji at SW for my guess, Shodai at KE. However, my record has not been stellar the last few basho at this game.

I wonder if they cancel the basho due to the Coronavirus if they won't just hold the banzuke for March and issue it 2 weeks before the May basho.

Just 57 despite the correct sanyaku size. Got away decently in M2-M6 where Tokushoryu's placement will cost almost everybody and I at least fluked a few one-pointers, but M13-M18 has turned out pretty badly for me.

I think I got around 41. Very disappointing considering I got the right guys going down. Unfortunately I had Tokoshoryu 1 rank lower and all of M16-18 in the wrong order.
1 rank off a lot of places.

Feeling pretty good about 62 now. I think what helped most was having Nishikigi ahead of Tsurugisho/Chiyomaru, allowing me to slot that pair in for the full points. Also lucky to have Enho and Meisei in the right spots despite not really getting those sections right.

53.

Top scores will be mostly those who managed to divine how they'd place the last 8 rikishi on the banzuke.  It's really hard when there are guys with 0 and 1 wins that are headed to that area and others coming in from Juryo.  They could do practically anything.
