I'd say the 3.83 Odd Sumo quota on Tamawashi for Day 3 has to be among the largest ever for a match not against a Yokozuna or Ozeki.

Chiyotairyu is 4.96 against Giku today. Can Chiyo beat him for the first time in 6 years? I'd say it's a definite maybe. Giku looked a bit tired yesterday.

Yeah I noticed that and was going to mention it when I was done making my picks and forgot.  These are going to happen a lot with Kotoshogiku now, which is why I didn't want to say that Mitaekumi-Tamawashi was clearly the highest, because Kotoshogiku has some very good records against some rikishi in Makuuchi.  I suppose if you interpret my comment as including matchups where the opponent used to be an Ozeki it's likely the Tamawashi quota is much higher on the list overall.

Congrats to Rocks for a kinboshi in Toto with Chiyotairyu. (Applauding...)

You've done it now! MK for sure! ;)

I must have jinxed myself... a horrendus Day 4 brought the average right down. Hubris! Hubris! I'll refrain from any semblance of gloating from now on.

Thanks! Kinboshi? Was I the only player to pick him?

Well, I had a great night. Would have been perfect if Okinoumi had eeked out a win. But I'll take only losing in TTT any day.

Eek! He didn't eke out a win.

That's Bench Sumo talk. We've been eeking out wins there for decades.

Oracle projections as of day 5:

Leaders: Pandaazuma, Gurowake

I haven't included DeRosa this time as I didn't have time.

@Fujisan has been one above the line in Toto for two days out of five! Talk about charmed, especially as he is leading and is on an ozeki run. ;)

It's pretty typical these days that they don't get updated until the end of the basho.  As nice as it would be to see the results daily, there's no pressing need for it.

Had sent a gentle reminder e-mail to Doitsuyama already yesterday.... Worked well last basho but now...?

Anyone knows what's happening with the Makushita game?

There are no results and the banzuke is not there either.

I‘m sorry for that. I had sent the banzuke to Doitsuyama one week ago, and re-sent it yesterday. But there‘s no response, so maybe Doitsuyama is on holiday... I apologize for the inconvenience.

I would be more than happy to host these games on my own site so that Doitsuyama doesn't have to worry about all this stuff. And of course then the games can actually do what they are supposed to do. The offer is always there, so...let me know.

No worries. It is a free game that you guys manage on your spare time, so nothing to apologize. Hope he is enjoying his holidays.

A brief glance at the Masters reveals a straight-up battle for the Green Mawashi between Gurowake and Norizo. Panda, Konosato and Flohru have outside chances but would need to improve quite a bit.

Oracle Day 9:

Leader: Pandaazuma
Norizo, Gurowake -4
MechaJejima -7
Gansekiiwa -11
Choshu-Yuki -12
Haidouzo -16

By the numbers I am one up with Takayasu, but as he is injured, I fully expect that to change, so my lead is likely two less than above.
