Winter jungyo 2019 - slight scandal

On Dec. 10th a jungyo is in Isahaya, Nagasaki - the last there was in 1992. Pref. local Tokitsukaze (Tokitsuumi) was at the city hall for PR (jungyo man Edagawa was with him). At the time of the last jungyo there, he was still a member of the sumo club of the prefectural Isahaya agricultural high school. As Akinomaki reported just above, the jungyo was in Ukiha, Fukuoka today and as we can see in one of the pictures Abi is training hard. 

He declared that his goals for next year are a yusho and the ozeki rank. He said he worked really hard to gain weight this year (he is currently over 150 kg- he's listed at 152 on the official website ). " I ate as much as I could. I think I'm about 10 kilos heavier compared to last year" he explained. "My weight is good as it is, now I have to improve my technique. Getting my KK in Kyushu gave me confidence, for next year I want to produce good sumo even when I lose" he added.

I saw on Twitter the NSK cancelled  Hakuho’s dohyo-iri at Shurijo in Okinawa. Said the symbolism is wrong. I suppose the Okinawans just don’t want a crowd there yet? Or is the ground hardening symbolism just that serious?

I guess the NSK just wanted to refuse Hakuho something - they want to plan things themselves
