shimodahito 304 Posted February 10, 2019 (edited) Good day all, Itchyknee, with a clever graphic presentation, is correct on the TORCH recap of the Hatsu Basho. Mutsu'ohideki's pick Hattorizakura; and Roga, a popular rikishi pick by many players, missed the TORCH. Roga pickers will certainly get another crack at it in Haru. Start-of-Hatsu Rikishi: DAIGONISHIKI Start-of-Hatsu Rank: JONOKUCHI 27 WESTDAY 3: Jonokuchi 27 West Daigonishiki (0-0) passes the TORCH to Jonokuchi 25 West Hamasu (0-1)DAY 5: Jonokuchi 25 West Hamasu (1-1) passes the TORCH to Jonokuchi 24 West Daitenma (1-1)DAY 8: Jonokuchi 24 West Daitenma (2-1) passes the TORCH to Jonokuchi 25 East Narumi (2-1)DAY 10: Jonokuchi 25 East Narumi (3-1) passes the TORCH to Jonokuchi 16 West Matsuyama (3-1)DAY 12: Jonokuchi 16 West Matsuyama (4-1) defeats Jonokuchi 13 West Wakafujioka (3-2)DAY 13: Jonokuchi 16 West Matsuyama (5-1) defeats Jonokuchi 8 West Masutenryu (5-1) End-of-Hatsu Rikishi: MATSUYAMA End-of-Hatsu: Rank: JONOKUCHI 16 WEST Edited February 14, 2019 by shimodahito
Fujisan 532 Posted February 11, 2019 So let me see If I get this(Understand) I pick a rikishi and he is my day one pick but if he loses whoever beat him becomes my day 2 pick? Am I right so far? If so,will you be posting how I/we did with a day by day record? No disrespect Shimodahito but this is complicated........

Am I right so far? If so,will you be posting how I/we did with a day by day record? No disrespect Shimodahito but this is complicated........ If I may explain(I apologize if I'm speaking out of turn.)-- It only seems complicated because you haven't recognized that the only really important thing is where The Torch ends up at the end of the year. The Torch is gradually going to work it's way up the ranks over the course of the next few tournaments and it's going to end the year in the hands of one guy. That's all your guessing: One wrestler, one rank. Get either thing right=big points. Get both right=Jackpot Even if you get neither thing right, you can still score some points if the wrestler you guess ever holds The Torch, plus some points for every match he wins while holding it. But playing the game only requires you to make two choices: Who will end the year holding The Torch, and what will be the rank of the rikishi holding The Torch at the end, whoever that might be. I hope this helps to clarify things for you, Fujisan. Edited February 11, 2019 by Shio-kago

So the torch starts from the bottom of the banzuke and we are trying to forecast who or where the torch will finish by the end of the year..... I think I got it now.......( My heads stopped hurting anyway ) Edited February 11, 2019 by Fujisan
