I have never witnessed that special dohyoiri "pattern".  Do you happen to know the last time it was performed that way?

Regularly performed before the Kyushu basho during the matsuri featuring all the Kyushu born sekitori.

I am really looking forward to the match between my man Takakeisho and Mitakeumi. These two tadpoles are looking really genki this basho and I predict one of them will at  least get the jun yusho.  As things look right now, I feel like Mitakeumi is the only person other than Hakuho and possibly Nishikigi who can give Takakeisho a serious challenge.

I put 10 shekels down on Ichinojo as your next Yok. Don't know when, but I honestly think it's a matter of time.

I don't think he can put 2 - 3 strong basho together due to his injury prone back.   He'd be extremely lucky to get to Ozeki.    With Hak & Kak's best years behind & Kise retiring, someone will surface to take their place as Yokuza.  I'd like to believe it's one of the up and coming ones - Mita, Takakeisho, even someone not in the radar yet.

I suspect you meant "Onosho" who was responsible for a false start (matta) against Ryuden.  It is common etiquette for wrestlers in that situation to bow as an apology to their opponent and the head shimpan.

No, it was Daieishou-you clearly are not watching my videos..

New sanyaku gyoji Kimura Konosuke made his Yokozuna dohyo-iri debut, but did so with a zori on his left foot only. The other one went missing at some point between the shitaku-beya and the dohyo.

Tokyo police are hunting a bald man seen running out of the arena clutching the zori to his chest while loudly proclaiming himself president of the International Konosuke Appreciation Society.

You botched the translation, sir.  Should be "Tokyo police are hunting for an extremely good looking  bald man seen running out of the arena clutching the zori to his chest while loudly proclaiming himself president of the International Konosuke Appreciation Society".

I would love that, but he seems to have a hard time getting started (awake) sometimes... I fear its more likely someone else gets it earlier than him, if ever (I hope I am wrong).

Takayasu also had a bout with the flu

Which he also clearly lost by oshitaoshi.

I just saw on the news that Kisenosato announced his retirement although apparently it was known several hours ago.

My information was out of date.

I just noticed Aoiyama lost by hansoku. What was he disqualified for? Hair pull?

I believe Aoiyama's hand got tangled with Onosho's hair as the latter was falling down.  That's telling it on the side of Aoiyama.   ;-)

Yeah, Mitakeumi!!!   Take a note, big dudes.   That's how you beat Takakeisho's frontal attack.  Use you weight and strength to push him back.   I still say Takaeisho is on his way to 11+ wins for promotion to Ozeki rank.

Tochinoshin to go kyujo at this rate .... Tamawashi bullied him over.

Mita gives no space to Sato, and i guess thats the way to puts the little bugger in trouble... nice win...

Tochis's kiujo is on the way...He is totally helpless

3 kadoban ozeki next basho? That will be fun to watch...Goeido got two hands in but no power to move Ichi, he even got blue lips...

Goeido gave his best but unfortunately caught Ichinojo on his good basho run.   Ichi looks healthy and strong, will be tough to beat.

... waiting for monoii decision seems like an eternity.   Hak gets his 4th win.  The guy's just too athletic.

If this sumo gig doesn't work out Hakuho can always look forward to a stellar career as a tightrope walker.

I think there should have been a torinaoshi.  It was just too close, but I'm not a shimpan so what do I know?

If it hadn't been past NHK limit time, I think there would have been - and spectators already had messed up the hall with zabuton
