How come Takanoiwa is on the banzuke when he has retired ???

The banzuke was already done before he retired.

Is it just me or do others think that in view of his history it is a pity about what

happened to Takanoiwa?

In view of his history I think it was only a matter of time before this troubled character would spark another violence incident that would put pressure on him to leave. The only thing that surprised me is that it happened so soon.

Yes, I was surprised also, one would have thought he would have learned from

his experience but it was clearly beyond his control - after all his efforts, such a 

pity.

Way I look at it, noone forced him to punch people, especially after what HE went through, his situation being a start of big changes and all.

So not sure what was beyond his control, and given the multiple reports about his character, I can't bring myself to pity him.

I’m not even REMOTELY sympathetic. There was no question as to whether or not he had the BOTTLE to compete at a high level. The problem seemed to be a lack of self control, as noted above.
