Preparations of the masses Hatsu 2019

Recommended Posts

Not the king of keiko Mitakeumi continues to uphold his un-name. He was at the Dewanoumi rengo keiko today, facing Myougiryuu, Tochinoshin and Goueidou. 3-13 in all, 1-10 against the Ozekis. "What's important is getting in the mix. I wasn't thinking of anything else. The yusho I had? Insignificant. I just want to bring some excitement this year as well.." he said. The other Komusubi Myougiryuu had 13 bouts, losing five straight to Tochinoshin. He is back in Sanyaku after three years and showed some sharp tachiai and good offense. "I'm able to train well. I'm taking it easy.." he said.

Aoiyama trained at home facing Mitakeumi and Tochiouzan, overwhelming them 15-3. He was looking extra good today, using powerful thrusts, sending his opponents flying off the dohyo and was sporting a low, powerful tachiai. "I'm seeing to it that I come in low at the tachiai. My condition? Like in Kyushu (where he won 11) probably, " he said.

New Sekiwake and raining wraining rening reigning champion Takakeishou was 4-12 at the Nishonoseki rengo keiko today. 1-8 against Kisenosato, 0-3 against Tamawashi, 0-1 against Ichinojou. "Totally bad. Nothing to talk about," he said.  When he calmed down later , he added "Not bad, not good. Not that bad.." Regarding Kisenosato: "He's heavy so I was short of breath. I did what I could. It was a good experience. Still 3-4 days left, so I'd like to carry this sweat to the basho," he summed.

Are Yago fans on the forum looking forward to his first public oichomage and Makuuchi debut?
Ex-Kotokaze's training  @1:22 in the vid looks intense!  I've seen Takamisakari do something similar with his shoulder and an outdoor metal pole.  The sound of bone and metal sound waves makes me recoil in the agony they refuse to feel.

Sure, he talks big, but I'll bet it's his tsukebito that ends up carrying the sweat.
