Play. Makushita. Game. Now (Kyushu 2018)!

Recommended Posts

Makushita Game... This is something to tell your children. And your children's children - that once you were so nerdy that you predicted how 3rd-class sumo wrestlers will fare, and that you've been one of the best 25 players in the world in doing so.

With three intai, we are down to 21 players right now. So consider checking out/returning! In any case, you are invited to partake in the exciting Kyushu Basho 2018!

An exciting basho ends in Makushita Game. Sorry for the lack of coverage. In contrast to real sumo, we had a kettei-sen in Makushita Game, and Ozeki Andoreasu defeated Itachi on first bracket (Gagamaru vs. Kagamio). So we have a tsuna run going for the relatively recent Ozeki. Speaking of tsuna run, Ozeki Asashosakari couldn't capitalize on his yusho at Aki Basho and actually ended up make-koshi and kadoban. Yokozuna kuroimori also had a make-koshi.

To compute your final win/loss record, subtract half a point from your winning points and round up where necessary.

Kitanoyama gets the kanto-sho for netting 62 wins.

As a small consolation for missing out on the yusho, Itachi both gets the shukun-sho (for picking Sokokurai, Ryuko, and Fujiazuma) and the gino-sho. The Technique Prize almost entirely depended on the fact that Itachi was the only player to pick 6-1 Fujiazuma.

Thanks for playing, and hope to see you next year!

Ladies and gentlemen,

pah, anybody can call a mono-ii.

But what you will now read about, is a series of mono-ii with such far-reaching consequences that they deserve to be called poly-ii instead...

As it turns out (already hinted at by Asapedroryu), something went totally wrong with the registration of new players for Makushita Game in November. And new players we had aplenty in Kyushu Basho. So, yesterday Doitsuyama computed the entirely new standings (including a bunch of new players). Many things changed, and the official standings can be found at

http://makushita.sumogames.de/Standing.aspx

New yusho winner is now Kobashi.

The shukun-sho remains with Itachi; the kanto-sho moves from Kitanoyama to Kobashi and Asapedroryu; and the gino-sho moves from Itachi to Takanorappa.

Sorry for the poly-ii...

Thanks for fixing it Randomitsuki and Doitsuyama. This was the only game that I actually did well. Too bad I lost on the playoff :(
