Pandaazuma 1,256 Posted November 20, 2019 The cracks are starting to show in my teams. Poor performances over the last few days from my pre-basho lads and an impossible situation in Juryo Game is leading to the bleeding of points. The dailies aren't much better, with some poor performances from me (although once again I lost AAD in SG in a basho which is turning out to be quite astounding luck-wise). Need some improvement and/or luck to get over the line. GAMBARIMASU!

Domichi 13 Posted November 20, 2019 (edited) Managed to avoid a full collapse in SG somehow. Sitting at 5-6 after a 1-5 start. Bench is unrecoverable at this point at 3-8. ISP: 8-3, tied for 23rd overall. Moved up three positions in Roto to 77th (from 80th). I'll take what I can get, just trying to stay out of last at this point. Pandaazuma 1,256 Posted November 21, 2019 My pre-basho teams really are limping to the line now. Meisei is single-handedly wrecking my chances for 400 points, losing six of the last seven and therefore screwing me majorly in all the pre-basho games I have chances in. It is simple: If he wins two or three, I should get over 400 points. If he loses out, I'll need the dailies to go very well indeed. Onto the dailies...they actually did go well today, apart from the comical Bench and truly astounding SG fiasco. I mean, I was already in what could possibly the most ridiculously unlucky basho of all time before I fought Norizo today. So, naturally, Norizo posts the best line-up of all three divisions! His score is far poorer than mine, but he fights me and plays a blinder. The story of my basho, basically. I am second in AADs and am outscoring all the yusho leaders except for one player - and yet I am 2-10. Absolutely hilarious. I fully expect to lose the last three days to ten-pointers from all three opponents. ;) Actually I'll have a real chance to spoil a few players hopes...all my upcoming opponents are desperate for wins now. I think it is indeed 7-5 in the Baka Cup, Can I swap that score for my actual one? GAMBARIMASU!
Kotononami 62 Posted November 22, 2019 (edited) But you were the luckiest player in History when you won the Yusho last Natsu with 13-2 and only 94 pts so it makes a balance. Edited November 22, 2019 by Kotononami
Haidouzo 78 Posted November 22, 2019 Chose incorrectly in 2 of 3 intra-squad bouts and then ran into a perfect score, to secure MK, which I really didn't want to do from M13. Falling into Juryo would be a sad day for the Machine. The highlight simply must be keeping it alive at 6-7 in the Baka Cup. GANBARIMASU

I absolutely love patterns so this SG basho has fascinated me. I genuinely don't care about the record. It was an impossible basho for anyone at all. My promotion was awarded according to the rules and my record since has been appropriate in terms of scoring and AADs etc. I am also the first yokozuna to win a yusho at the rank since the first one did it (once). Your comment just makes me wonder why you bothered making it. Are you still bitter about missing out on ozeki promotion that time? Is that why you left STI suddenly with no explanation?? Weird. Pandaazuma 1,256 Posted November 23, 2019 Been an awful gaming week. Most of my pre-basho teams are either riddled with injuries or lads who have suddenly forgot how to do sumo. Meisei continues to wreck most of my games, and I will need him to win twice now to salvage any points, but I don't see that happening. Juryo Game is finally starting to crack under the pressure of my absent Ichiyamamoto and I will basically need Kotonowaka to win out with Ikioi losing out...again, not gonna happen. Highly annoyed about this as pre-basho I was basically 50/50 for my last pick on Ichi or Kiribayama. The rest is history. ;) Sumo Game is now at the world-class comedy stage, and I am now just aiming to finish with 12 AADs and 2-13 in order to have the most hilarious basho of all time. At least Toto looks OK, and it's nice to be leading the gino-sho, the measurement I consider the holy grail of all sumo gaming, even more than any yusho. Remains to be seen whether I can catch the Owl or overtake Unko though. Will do my best in the last weekend of the gaming year. GAMBARIMASU!
Pandaazuma 1,256 Posted November 23, 2019 LOL! Put the mockers on myself big-time yesterday with my Toto gino-sho comments. I was dead last today with what I think was my worst ever score. A truly horrific day in which I lost almost everything. Amazingly, I got a sneaky bet up in Odd Sumo that puts me in the lead with a day left. And I beat Fujesus in Bench, but that doesn't really count as a win as it is too easy. ;) More comedy in SG...I am running out of adjectives to describe what has happened there. One for the ages, that one. Will be very interesting in that game tomorrow, incidentally...will explain later. The pre-basho scene has been absolutely devastated by Tsurigisho (whose confidence has been destroyed by that fool gyoji) and Meisei, but the latter managed a win today and put me back in contention in a few games. If he wins tomorrow, I may have a chance for some small change. But it has basically been a disgrace game-wise. Pure luck at the moment. I doubt very much I'll be able to hold my title next year if sumo continues to be this unpredictable, as it is likely to be with only two trustworthy lads fighting right now. A good day tomorrow and I'll have a chance for some decent points, but I seriously doubt I'll hit 400 now. 7-7 in the Baka Cup. I'd deserve it this time, so good luck, Scott! ;) GAMBARIMASU! Pandaazuma 1,256 Posted November 23, 2019 (edited) Looks like a return to Sekiwake for Scott with his KK today and he may even be top Sekiwake, which would be his highest ever rank. Good lad! Gary should be joining him, especially if he wins tomorrow. Owl looks a certain promote as well. That will be four Centipedes in the elite division. Congrats also to Stefan for his 8th win today. Rupert too. Lots of 7-7s tomorrow and the very few MKs we have been due to horrendous luck in all cases. Owl has a real chance for yusho if he wins tomorrow. Gary can still sneak it too. Massive bout tomorrow between Andonishiki and Trender. The winner is Ozeki next time and the loser is Sekiwake. I will have a chance to send Yamashiro to kadoban, but the way this basho has gone, I fully expect to lose 10-0. Day 14: Rank Record Points AADs Opp AADs 10 8+ 5- TB TB+ Who? Haidouzo 78 Posted November 23, 2019 The struggle continues. If it weren't for Salarycap, this would be one horrid basho. At least KK is secured in SG. Also, a hilarious 2-man GBL for a 7-6 win in Bench to slow the bleeding some more. Unfortunately, 5 GBLs doesn't look like it's going to cut it for the oyakata prize. Maximum drama in the Baka Cup, which I can't say I remember happening too often. GANBARIMASU

Pandaazuma 1,256 Posted November 24, 2019 Another horror show today. Just like last weekend. I had a great first five days and then almost everyone in my teams turned to complete shit. And the dailies went from mediocre to total car crash. I may sneak an Odd yusho and I can't believe I won in Toto today for an 11-4 jun yusho, which would be 6.33 Masters points. Getting 20+ after this utter disaster is something of a surprise, but there you go. I may get small change in Hoshitori, UDH and Oracle. Maybe even Norizo. But those results all come in late so won't know for a while. And I'll be happy to take possession of the Baka Cup. That was the unluckiest and most ridiculous SG basho in my entire career. And I wasn't even picking all that badly in relative terms. I don't want a repeat of that anytime soon. As I said yesterday, if this level of 'predictability' is the new norm, Fujesus is going to win the World's next year for sure. It won't be me, that's for certain.
