Hilarious!! You even got the special question right in Norizo Cup!! So you made the top five there as well!

WOW!

6 points.  So nearly 126 points (if 4th in Hoshitori and 1st in Salarycap).

Oh, and, once again, Panda, re: metasumo:  you're welcome!  Is this going to put us in 1st and 2nd?

Yeah you are definitely in the lead with that score. I will be around 15-20 points behind in second.

Stellar performance, Congratulations! I'm glad that at least in TTT I could keep you at bay via TB.

As already mentioned all in all Hatsu'19 was a good one with a few flaws.

Pre-bashos heavily suffered from Ikioi and Onosho, thus I went MK in Fantasy, POG, OBG and NorizoCup. Shared 8th rank in Oracle (1,5 p.), where bloody losses today from Yago and Asanoyama cost me a couple of points. Nice surprise to finish shared #3 in Juryo Game (9 p.).

Dailies went great - if there were not these two wasted Yusho in Chain (12 p.) and S4 (7,5 p.). Did not want to kill my great TB and made the all wrong choices after thinking more than one hour about that dilemma. Instead of Takanofuji and Yago I should have picked Shimanoumi and Ichinojo plus the gambit Chiyotairyu/Myogiryu finishing 12-3 like Haidouzu with a marginal better TB (31 vs. 30). Well, at least my 2nd Yusho in TTT (15 p.) (Firstprize...) made me really happy where I kept Scott at bay via TB. Final loss in Toto to stay with 10 wins and only 0,86 points. Nice win in Bench (7,25 p.) and a shared 9th rank in DST (1 p.) sums up to 54,11 SB Masters points  (Signofapproval...)

Thank you!  And well done in TTT, indeed.  I'm quite content for you to take that one after my very lucky final day in Quad.

Confirmed SC yusho, and now confirmed Hoshitori yusho.  130.68 points.  5 yusho, 3 jun-yusho, 13 top 10s.

Insane!

5 Yusho!!!!!

130+ points!!!

Even the Panda might never break this record. It could be for eternity.

It's probably a good thing I'm not on the same continent with the Panda or else we'd probably be three sheets to the wind somewhere tonight celebrating the Mukade dominance so far this year.

And I don't even drink!

Simon,

I have posted the following on the Bench Sumo message board and on the DST forum as ewell.  I haven't been able to locate a contact listing on Seki-Toto, TTT and Sumo Game so if you or any of the Mukade crew know s who is running any of those games could you please pass this on to them as well.

Ironically, despite being retired for many years, I find myselfwith considerably less "extra" time on my hands.  I must thus, regrettably, submit my retirement papers from the daily sumo games at this time.  I will continue to follow Sumo and to participate in the pre Basho  games as well as Chain Gang & I.S.P. since they only require one pick each day.  I have hopes than in the Summer or Fall of '21 I may find myself with enough time available to resume playing the other dailies.  I thank all of you running these wonderful games that have allowed me to interact with all of the wonderful Sumo fans from around the world.

Respectfully submitted,

Hal "Chisaiyama" Shaver

As noted above I will not be able to keep up with dailies for an extended period of time, but would prefer nof fojust vaingloriously slip off the various banzukes, so any help would be appreciated.  You guys have been fabulous and I will definitely check in here from time-to-time to see how you all are doing.

Sorry to hear that, Hal. I am sure Jakusotsu and Asashosakari (who run the two games you mentioned) will be happy to keep you banzuke-gai. As for SG, you can just leave that and you will automatically be retired after a bit. When you come back, I will make sure you are reinstated under your original name at the bottom of Makushita.

Hope the reasons you are busy are good ones!

Simon

The Sumo Game rankings were out nice and early. Yokozuna Pandaazuma is on course to become the second longest-lasting yokozuna if he can keep getting winning records. Yushos have eluded him so far. In sanyaku we have returns for Rupert and Owl. Rupert has never been higher thank komusubi east and has never had a kachi-koshi in the elite division. Owl has been sekiwake before but has been absent for a time. Good to see him back. Both can build on strong records last time to go for an ozeki run.

Stefan gets a nice bump up back to the top division and with a little space below him has some leeway. Let's hope he has better luck with opponents than last time. Weird to see Jan, Chisha and Ganzo in Juryo. These three are all top players and absolutely do not belong in the second division. I expect swift returns from all of them. Unko is sadly back in Makushita but 8 wins will see him back up again.

We kick off next Sunday. Good luck to all the Centipedes! Will fix the table later.

I knew when I looked at the day-one torikumi I was going to be slaughtered everywhere. Just that kind of day. As it happened, it was only mediocre until the Takayasu shock turned it into a disaster. A creditable ten and survival in Chain is all I can claim from a real horror show. The pre-bashos look pretty poor too but most of my picks look OK apart from Kaisei and Takayasu, and they aren't everywhere. So...plenty of time to come back. I suspect I'll need the dailies if I want to make a dent in the Masters.

0-1 in the Baka Cup.

Carnage for the Centipedes. Some insane luck as well. Gary winning with THREE! And Ronnie losing with SEVEN! Well done to Chisha, Mark, Ronnie and Steve for getting rare AADs. Sadly only Chisha won of that group.

Losses everywhere but SG and Toto.  Not good, but in games like TTT where only 12 people walked away with a win, it's not quite so bad.  Being part of the Ichinojo Exodus in Chain is no fun.

Oh, and, of course, I won in the Baka Cup.  Silver linings.

Much higher scoring now we know the conditions of the lads. Gary and Jan are our only unbeaten lads. Poor old Rup lost with a 9.

A much better day for the Panda. I am always happy once the day-one lottery is out of the way as I can settle in and start to grind out those wins. Bench is unlucky - almost impossible to win today. 0-2. My usual stellar start in ISP: 0-2. But the rest was fine and I am 1-1 or better. Tipspiel was OK again and I am top twenty there. And still in Chain with 28 others.

The pre-bashos are a mix. Juryo Game, Roto and the Japanese ones are all write-offs given Kaisei's injury. Fantasy Sumo, Oracle, UDH and Salarycap are the only viable ones left really. It could be a lot better, but it could be a hell of a lot worse.

And a win in the Baka Cup for 1-1 there.

8-man GBL in Bench to win on the second bench rikishi.  Now THAT'S a highlight.

Looks like I'm 1-1 practically everywhere but Quad.

Except for Toto and TTT, it's nothing but losses on day 3.  (2-1 in each of those two, 0-3 in Quad and I believe 1-2 everywhere else.)

Looking like Just Another Basho for The Machine, but it's early days yet.

What a terrible day in SG. The most anyone got was 7, thanks to all the O losing. I scraped together a meagre 5.
