I think that just means I'm better at being terrible!

Really awful luck for Gary as he leads the Makuuchi scoring and is 3-5. Nightmare. Owl sadly lost today but there was little he could have done against Norizo's ten-pointer. Ganzo made up ground with a strong win. They are both well in contention. Juryo continues to go well with all our representatives in positive territory. Steve won again in Makushita and is one off the yusho pace. Ronnie is one win back. Domichi won today for some damage control.

Another pretty good day for the Panda. Continuing to creep up those leaderboards and as it stands I could score fairly well, although I am unlikely to be challenging Norizo or Gurowake for the Green this time. I'll do my best though.

And 5-3 in the Baka Cup thanks to that ultra lucky win over Scott.

Wins in Quad, Toto, and (like everyone else) TTT.

5-3 in Toto is pretty good for me, historically speaking, and for this basho in particular.  4-4 in SG leaves some room for a strong finish.  5-3 in TTT is only two behind the leaders.

4th in Salarycap after day 6, which looks to almost certainly be my strongest pre-basho finish.

Still doing fairly well but am being astoundingly unlucky in Bench sumo. Not quite Gurowake-level unlucky, but it is still pretty bad. Today's comedy was just needing Hak to beat Ichinojo to win. Should have listened to Moti yesterday. I actually half agreed with him, but Hak is generally an automatic top pick probability-wise in most games. Had a brilliant day in Tipspiel, getting only one of the two 15s. Astounded I didn't win Toto with my picks of Endo and Kotoyuki. Been unlucky in that game too. I'm still in most of the dailies, and pre-basho looks a lot better too. My target is 250 Masters points in the World Championships and I'm well on the way to that.

6-3 in the Baka Cup. Hurray!

The yusho leader won courtesy of the Hakuho upset and his relatively low score shows that he has been pretty lucky. He may get tougher tests if he keeps winning. Panda, Owl and Ganzo are the only ones within reach, but only Panda won today of these three.

It's a tale of 6-3s in Juryo but they are two off the pace of the sole leader. All our Makushita lads posted wins but Steve is the only one with a realistic shot at yusho. He can't lose any more though.

Wins only in Bench, ISP, Quad, and Toto--where I'm now 6-3 and in a large tie for 7th.

This would seem to be the reverse of my usual, where I do well in every game BUT Toto.  Which still makes just as little sense!

Also a curious 7-0 win on points in Bench, where I had the outrageous fortune of running into Jakusotsu's 0-man GBL  (Also spotted nearby:  Damimonay's inverted GBL, where the only winner on their squad was Ichinojo in the 5th bench spot.)

All the leaders won today so no ground was made up by Panda and Ganzo despite their wins. Owl sadly lost again and, three wins off the yusho pace, will probably be turning his attention to sanyaku promotion. Seeing some very nice fighting spirit from Rupe, Scott, Gary, Jan and Stefan there. Seb needs to be very careful now as he needs four out of five to stay in the division.

Unlucky losses for Mark and Chisha in Juryo put them at 6-4. Unko has had a relatively lucky basho and he won again to go 7-3. Steve lost so Ronnie is now matching him at 7-3. Dustin can't catch a break.

And another Baka Cup win puts me on the brink. 7-3.

Ganzo got his KK today and is now the only one with a chance to catch the leader, who just keeps on winning in not all that impressive fashion. But's that's Sumo Game for you. KKs also for Unko, Steve and Ronnie. Congrats.

A pretty good all-round performance so far from the Centipedes, but yusho looks increasingly unlikely.

The first crappy day since the opening of the basho for the Panda. I was largely a victim of my own system today, as I was not allowed to select Mitakeumi, but of course everyone else did and that managed to screw me in most games. Managed wins in Bench and ISP, though, and they could be crucial. Pre-basho went a little south as well today and 250 may not be achievable unless I finish strongly now.

A loss in the Baka Cup makes it 7-4, so I need one from four.

Yeah it was highly annoying. A confident Meisei would have won that but he has taken a real mental beating this time because he has not been doing bad sumo; just losing sumo. I rate Meisei. When he is on his game, he is a good rikishi, and he practises hard too.

Can't win 'em all. :(

5-6 in SG is an accomplishment considering how poorly I'm scoring. I'm averaging less than 1 win per day compared to my previous efforts in the game. I'll have to adjust how I look at the bouts before the next basho.

Also due to my inattentiveness, I'm 74/79 in Roto, and 165/169 in Fantasy (Whistling...)

Wins everywhere except ISP (and Odd).  By far, my strongest day this basho.

Also at what must surely be a personally unprecedented 7-day win streak in Toto, tied for the yusho at 9-3.  How that translates into 7-5 in SG I'll never quite understand, but I'll take it.

Really mediocre couple of days and my games are suffering now. Will have to turn it around over the final three days to realise the potential. 250 is still doable, but my only yusho hopes now are found in Oracle.

7-5 in the Baka Cup. This is getting silly now. Will I close the deal tomorrow?

A pretty good day overall, as I won all the important games and stayed in contention in the viable pre-bashos. The Giku kinboshi was highly annoying for Bingo, though, as far too many people have Giku. Am I the only person who thinks he is bloody awful?? I am on course to easily pass 250 and could even get to the 260-270 range. I haven't looked at the Masters yet, but I would need a collapse from Gurowake and Norizo to have a chance. Not impossible, for sure.

And insult to injury - I beat Scott again in the Baka Cup for go 9-5. That stinking cup will be staying on his side of the pond for the summer.

Ganzo did the business and is still in with a shout of yusho. He will be gutted that he hasn't been paired with Yumezukuri on day 15 as matters now lie beyond his control. He will need Trender to beat the long-time leader AND beat his own opponent, the ever-dangerous Andoreasu. On the bright side, his score would very likely ensure a win if these things come to pass.

Panda beat the feisty new Ozeki Andonishiki in a poor match. I picked badly (very quickly yesterday without my usual system) but got away with it. Rupe walked into another strong score and is now definitely out of sanyaku. Chankoyama was the victor there and she can go to sekiwake if she wins tomorrow. Owl has been quietly ranking up wins and he can go for DD tomorrow. Scott and Gary are 7-7. Jan has come back well from a poor start and is aiming for ten. Stefan's awful tie-break luck struck for the sixth time out of six and he is MK now, but he should be safe in Makuuchi. Seb, on the other hand, looks doomed to Juryo.

Mark secured his KK and will have a reasonable chance of promotion if he wins tomorrow. Chisha is 7-7. Unko lost but 10-4 is a nice haul. In Makushita Steve won again for 10-4. Ronnie lost for the same record. And Dustin can complete his comeback with a win tomorrow.

Yes, I AM gutted. Would have liked to have it in my own hands. Obviously the Torikumi maker thought, Trender (aka Derosa) would win against me. In that case the final Bout between Yumezukuri and Trender would have been perfect but I was following my own script  (Laughing...)

Nevertheless, my 9th Jun-Yusho is in the bag unless Senshuraku offers me the sweetness of a Yusho. TB currently is in my favour (98 vs. 95).

I have a slightly better chance for the Yusho in S4 as I'm the sole leader at 12-2 but at least two of the 4 chasing guys at 11-3 will easily beat me in a TB. So I need to eke out another lucky win on Senshuraku. Difficult, when your remaining Rikishi are rather underdogs in tomorrows Bouts. Let's see what the Day brings.

Winning on tiebreak against one opponent in Toto for the yusho.  I guess a 10th consecutive win should seal it, but I don't really know exactly how big of a lead I have in the tiebreak.  This would be an extraordinary change.  I'm sure my memory is short on the matter, but if I've gotten points in Toto more than twice before, I'd be surprised, and I don't think I've ever been near the yusho race.

I don't think I have a sniff of points anywhere else but Salarycap, where I'm still showing as 2nd place after day 10.
