Two wrong calls by Kounosuke. I'm surprised, but no one is perfect actually.
Thank you again for these videos :-)

As we all know, part of the beauty of this sport we love is the speed at which things happen. The gyoji only has one angle or vantage point at any given moment. Part of his skill set is to move and adjust to optimize this in response to the flow of the bout. Would be impossible for any human to get every call right. The nuances of sumo are beyond the human ken

Well, well. Very nice video. Seems the gyoji doesn't count for much though.

Incidentally, video timecodes have been fully added to the DB for Day 1 and Day 2. Many thanks to Miselet for the videos.

My favourites for Day 1, including

Plus about two dozen more.

And for Day 2, among others:

You gave the Yutakayama-Goeido result away when you put that Tochinoshin faces Yutakayama (0-5) tomorrow. :)

cat versus mouse (Ayaminato-Kototsukahara, Jd)

I often wonder if during matches like this the "cat" is thinking "If I get a grip on this guy I'm going to throw him to the boxes!" Must be frustrating.

I can't help it, but to me ex-Terao increasingly looks like he's living in a volcano base and plotting for world domination.

Nah, he's a mild-mannered bespectacled guy with an incredible athletic past.  Clark Kent.
