2018 Natsu - THE UNDERDOG GAME (TUG) - ENTRY, TORIKUMI, STANDINGS

Recommended Posts

On Senshuraku (Day 15) - 26 (89.7%) Gamers have scored points. Not sure, but I think this was if not the best, one of the best scoring Senshuraku days.

The most riders were on the bandwagons of Kyokutaisei (11 riders, who got 26 points each) and Chiyoshoma (9 riders, who got 21 points each).

The pick of the day was Myogiryu. 3 Gamers (Jejima, Pandaazuma and Kishikaisei) picked him and were awarded with 32 points each. Congratulations!

Kuroimori, Wakatake and Senkoho achieved Golden Bonus points (GoBP) to keep the tradition alive. Congratulations!

I think this was a record: only 1 day NO GoBP have been achieved.

Here are the points achieved on Senshuraku (Day 15).

As the Top 3 Gamers are not involved in Tibreaking, here are the Official Winners of TUG for Natsu 2018:

After 2 (two) Jun-Yusho (in 2017 Natsu, and last 2018 Haru) Katunazuma managed to win her 1st Yusho (1st) with 209 points.    (Firstprize...)    Congratulations!

Suwihuto is the Jun-Yusho Winner (1st) with 205 points.   (Secondprize...)     Congratulations!

Gansekiiwa makes the podium at 3rd place with 188 points.   (Thirdprize...)     Congratulations!

I would like to give an Honorary Mention to Fujisan, who is a long time supporter of TUG, for his perseverance and belief that he can do better, and getting to the 4th place after a rough start.  (Applauding...) Congratulations!

The Sansho will be announced later next week.

Many thanks to all TUG supporters and participants during 2018 Natsu Basho.

Hope to see you all in July during 2018 Nagoya Basho.

Best Regards,

I know I have mentioned this before but now with the new entry system the ^bandwagon^ is no longer possible......

You cant join the bandwagon unless you know who everyone is picking and we don't anymore....

What do you mean? You are picking on a word?

Obviously, we have different deffinitions of the word “bandwagon”.

According to Mirriam Webster Dictionary:

_________________________________________

Definition of bandwagon for English Language Learners

  • : a popular activity, effort, cause, etc., that attracts growing support

_________________________________________

In my case it is a popular rikishi, who is picked by many Gamers because of his great probability to win.

I am not talking about a copy cat effect.

I am not arguing with a native Brit, but just explaining why I use the word “bandwagon”.

Obviously we do have different definitions of bandwagon......

Making picks that other players cannot see is meant to stop the bandwagon because our picks are not influenced by how many players pick the same rikishi,in fact we would all like to pick a different rikishi to get the extra points......

Its "not worth fighting over" though as we say in the UK so lets forget it and just enjoy the games....

Sorry for going on about it.......
