ryafuji 807 Posted May 7, 2018 Yeah I have to say I would be surprised if Hakuho skipped this one. But we shall see soon enough.

Kintamayama 44,387 Posted May 7, 2018 (edited) Takayasu injured again. Left upper arm. Left the rengo keiko early today. He called out Takekaze and beat him in their first bout. He was pushed back in the second bout and then was seen holding his left arm. So after that 1-1, he ended his training for the day and was asked if he was going to the hospital. "I'm going to sleep," he said. So now it's the left upper arm and the right shoulder. Looking increasingly difficult for him."I still don't know how bad it is. I'll have to see if he joins us tomorrow," said Tagonoura Oyakata, who affirmed that Takayasu will be going to the hospital. I've said it before-they should check the mezuzhas at the heya and maybe replace them. Edited May 7, 2018 by Kintamayama 2
Kintamayama 44,387 Posted May 7, 2018 Hakuhou went to Isegahama beya today to participate in the Isegahama rengo keiko. 13 bouts against Kaisei and others, winning them all. "I think I'm in good shape," he said. "He seems to be pretty much over his injury, " said Miyagino Oyakata.
Jesse Kahoaalohakūpaʻa 7 Posted May 7, 2018 Hakuhou has been "killing it" at keiko recently! And looked fierce durning Isegahama Ichimon rengo keiko and at Soken, too. I'd say it is a sure bet he'll be coming to Natsu basho ready to win.

I suggest you check out who he has been facing, when he was actually doing any training. At the soken, he chose to take on Endou and Mitakeumi. No Goueidou, no weak Kisenosato, not even Tochinoshin or Ichinojou. At the rengo keiko,he faced Kaisei and some Juryo guys. He's definitely very careful and I would definitely not reach any conclusions based on his keiko recently. But we shall see..

ALAKTORN 346 Posted May 8, 2018 Takayasu’s attitude towards injury seems just as bad as Kisenosato’s… a problem with the heya?

Kintamayama 44,387 Posted May 8, 2018 Hakuhou went for the Isegahama Ichimon rengo keiko held at Isegahama beya today. He faced Kaisei and Takarafuji for 11 bouts and won them all. "I am looking forward to entering Natsu with tension of the good kind. I have that 1000 wins in Makuuchi barrier to break (needs 28 more wins) so it can be a good starting point. I hope my engine will run smoothly (he loves to use the word " engine" in English, lately..) and help me get to senshuraku," he said. Terunofuji: "Why doesn't he call me any more??" 1 3
Dapeng 232 Posted May 8, 2018 Kise went to 6-10 with Geeku yesterday. Former Ohnokuni said there's nothing good in Kise ...... probably will not attend this basho.

It that is the case he would be better off not even doing keiko for 2 or 3 months, much less entering Natsu. But maybe it's just muscles, I really like Takayasu and would like to see him continue healthy.

Kintamayama 44,387 Posted May 9, 2018 Hakuhou went for degeiko to Tokitsukaze beya where he faced 225 kilo Ichinojou and Yutakayama. 2-4 against Ichinojou. Yes. "He's heavy. But also very good", said Hakuhou. Interesting. 1

Asashosakari 18,833 Posted May 10, 2018 (edited) Kisenosato and camp have made the unusual decision to wait until Friday morning to make up their minds; it's normally customary to announce by Thursday evening at the latest and not wait until right up to Friday's first meeting of the scheduling committee.
