Yatagarasu 352 Posted March 18, 2018 Yet another report of violence spotted by Tachiai blogger Herouth, this time involving Minezaki beya. According to her overview of the original article, neither rikishi informed the oyakata at the time, but rather the incidents came to his attention after the victim's retirement via a letter from the victim's father. The NSK will make a decision at the end of the month but concerning private proceedings, the matter is being settled out of court [parties seemingly unidentified in the article]. 2
Kintamayama 44,387 Posted March 18, 2018 (edited) The junior deshi is probably Kaigou. As for the attacker, I'm guessing on and off Korean veteran of 19 years Soranoumi, better known in the past as Ryuukiyama. I certainly hope it's not Arawashi.. Or maybe Mongolian Gochouzan (Tourugawa). One of these three. Or not. (Three foreigners in one heya?) OK, Hanakago, Araiso, yeah, yeah.. Asashosakari 18,833 Posted March 19, 2018 (edited) Looks like they deleted the original and posted it anew - the content seems substantially the same to me, although I can't vouch that it's completely identical. https://www.facebook.com/minezaki.sumo/posts/1727217344003049 Edit: In case it goes missing again: 〈皆様へ〉 この度は、大切な本場所の開催中に、当部屋の問題で世間をお騒がせ致し、まずは、被害者の方、大相撲ファンの皆様、力士をはじめとする相撲協会関係者の皆様に心よりお詫び申し上げます。 Edited March 19, 2018 by Asashosakari
Asashosakari 18,833 Posted March 19, 2018 (edited) Sanspo says that Minezaki-oyakata conferred with the board of directors and suggested that the offender sit out the rest of Haru basho; the board agreed with that course of action. So I guess we'll know by tomorrow, via Day 10 fusenpai and/or Day 11 kyujo. The board will still be dealing with the case officially in their regular meeting on the 29th, along with the Takayoshitoshi stuff. Kintamayama 44,387 Posted March 29, 2018 The Minezaki beya rikishi who attacked another rikishi four times and caused him to leave sumo, got a one-basho suspension. Minezaki Oyakata himself will get a 10% salary reduction for two months. 2
Jesse Kahoaalohakūpaʻa 7 Posted May 3, 2018 Okay, so is this Sandanme man intai or not? I haven't seen the official Banzuke yet but Asashosakari's "Banzuke for Natsu 2018" topic in the Ozumo Discussions has him ranked at Sd39.
